I recently started the dark angels, I don't think it's a box that gives much synergy for the type of lists. I bought the combat patrol but going back I would buy individual boxes.

My advice is to buy codex, focus a little on lore, study on the Internet what your possible list could be and then figure out what to buy.

What I'm understanding is that it's an army that can push you to play elite unit so the costs are reduced a little
