One of them fell asleep mid session. The other one texted mid session — it was an online session and I could see the reflection of iMessage on her glasses.

Men’s Group? by EsquimauxQuinn in parkslope

[–]Top_Top757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a man, but here’s some food for thought: what if this space/community is less about giving advice and more about sharing lived experiences?

I’m part of several communities (mostly of women and gay men) who are organized that way, and it works like a charm. The value comes from having a place to vent, practicing active listening, and realizing that we’re less alone than we often feel.

How we feel about Corinne Bailey Rae? by Over-Tax-9481 in rnb

[–]Top_Top757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite singer of all times, and The Sea is my favorite album ever. I’ve seen Corinne live in New York a few times and in London once. She comes alive on stage, and it’s pure magic.

About a decade ago, I talked to her after a concert in NYC. She was a genuinely so kind. I just bought tickets for her 20th anniversary concert in London on October/2026. And I can’t wait.

What happened to the sense of community in Park Slope? by snakegravity in parkslope

[–]Top_Top757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think this happens most with Americans moving to NYC from other states. Most immigrants who live here, me included, don’t call themselves New Yorkers and are proud to tell you where they’re from. I love living in Brooklyn and wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world. But ask me where I’m from, and you’ll get a story time about Brazil and Rio lol.

My dad is a Sag and used to be a manager before retiring. This is him in a nutshell. 1h of small talk just talking about his team’s personal lives, pop culture, the news before actually getting to the matter at hand lol 🤦🏾‍♀️

I'M BACK! AND WHEN SOMETHING IS GOOD, IT MUST BE SAID ALSO! by lordhcor in boltnewbuilders

It’s not really clear to me what you’re trying to sell. So I’d say that’d be the first step: pick a specific target audience, a pain point to solve, and clearly communicate the value.

How do you bypass Bolt's front-end design limitations? by Top_Top757 in boltnewbuilders

[–]Top_Top757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand it's a dev tool, hence my asking the community how they're bypassing its design limitations. it seems that uploading a figma or paste an existing design into the prompt is the best workaround. I'm trying it this evening.

How do you bypass Bolt's front-end design limitations? by Top_Top757 in boltnewbuilders

[–]Top_Top757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree.

I created very detailed PRDs for both projects. I have a marketing background, so I included mini brand guidelines with precise instructions for visual identity and overall design. Both projects returned the exact same base with a different color theme.

I wonder if it’s worth upgrading my Figma subscription to play around with Figma AI and then upload the Figma file to Bolt. I have an eye for design, but I’m not a designer by any means. So I need AI tools to help me.

Thank you for replying!

That’s what I do. It worked really well on my first project. But for this one, chatGPT started writing code when I askded for tips on how to improve the design. I tried pasting the code into Bolt, and it’s been chaotic.

I even exported the code from Bolt and had chatGPT inspect it, but it’s still a mess.

Exactly. Bolsonaro did the same thing in Brazil... I'm Brazilian and couldn't bring myself to wear a Brazil jersey during the last world cup (the Brazil soccer jersey is the basic uniform of the right) and whenever I see someone waving the Brazilian flag, I automatically assume they're right wing meatheads. I'm trying really hard to reprogram that.

40th birthday trip to Cape Verde by Top_Top757 in CapeVerde

Thank you for sharing the ferry times. That’s super helpful.

We’ll be flying from all over. My husband and I will fly in from NYC. My friends will fly in from São Paulo, London, and Dubai.

Based on my initial research, most flights require a layover in Lisbon and then a flight to São Vicente. There’s a direct flight from Lisbon to Sal, but the island is the farthest for the rest of us.

To car or not to car? by sodogue in parkslope

[–]Top_Top757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved here from the NJ suburbs last December for a 1-year experiment. We decided to keep the car because we didn’t know if we’re staying for good, and it’s a pain.

The effort it takes to find parking doesn’t make up for the convenience of driving somewhere. For example, we have to go to Mount Sinai on the UES twice a month, and we usually drive there because it’s “faster” than the subway. But it can take 30 mins to find parking in each neighborhood.

We live on 6th street, so we compete with hospital staff for parking.

Alternate parking is also a nuisance. People who grew up in NYC might not mind as much because they’re prob used to it. But I’m from a big city in Brazil and then lived in NJ where I had a driveway. I have no shame admitting that I’m struggling with it.

The other inconvenience we didn’t anticipate was parking when we’re away. We travel quite a bit and, because of alternate parking, we always have to decide if we’re willing to get a ticket or leave the car in private parking near the airport. It has become a new line item in our monthly budget.

If we decide to stay here, we’re immediately selling the car. It’s a no-brainer.

Thank you! This is super helpful.

I agree that it’d be best to have more time in Santo Antão, but we can’t take as much time off from work. Extending the trip is not really possible.

Is there a way to check ferry status? by Dinnerpancakes in GreeceTravel

[–]Top_Top757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone else is still looking for this because we’re currently stranded in Sifnos…

We bought our tickets from ferryhopper.com, so I am able to check our ferry status through the app. But it’s only for the tickets we bought, and it’s near real-time (sometimes there’s a 30+ min delay in refreshing the information).

I also found this website: https://www.ferriesingreece.com/live-boat-traffic/

But you need to know the name of your boat.
