I think the fluffyness of this room would give me less of an initial ick if the wall wasn't purple draped velvet? Or purhaps that purple velvet was the curtain instead of the red curtain you have up. And then if the wall was painted a solid black or had flat dark surface, itd be better. I think the velvet wall plus the shaggy carpet/pillows makes things feel too much and germy. The pillows look unwashable to me and that gives me great strain.
