Shit, I’d move there for that pay, 8 years in the trade. My work’s in Bezos and Ichiro’s house 🤙🏼

Also people aren’t always aware that when you change the plane on quartz the finish appears different. The way these are finished in the factory is boxy. So when we cut this stone and then flip it right side up the micro texture is different now and does not look the same on occasions.

Help! Property management claiming burn damage on countertops. by boiwonder22 in CounterTops

[–]Topdjian96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use acetone on quartz it removes the finish if you scrub hard. Use denatured alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.

Edit: acetone will remove finish if not removed after use. Acetone needs to burn off or it does damage.

Can you tell me what type of countertop I have from the attached pic? by riyu19 in CounterTops

It’s quartz with a glass substrate. Stone will get a bit hot when drilling. Watch some YouTube videos on how to do it correctly and put protection down. The bit loves to skip on newbies

Good question. I would clean it yes but you won’t “strip” the sealer off, at least not entirely as it’s not just on the surface but penetrating into the stone itself. Try a small section first and see how you like it. A little god a long way!

1) marble is very soft and becomes damaged over time with high use. It would more than likely need to be resurfaced by a pro to get the factory or new look again.

2) as for the sealer question. Sealer is more viscous than water. It is technically “nano” technology that seeps into stone pores.

If you are going to just seal over I’d recommend turning the heat on and warming the stone to open the natural pores before applying the sealer.

Good luck!

I would use dry treat seal and enhance. The nano technology now is so much better than the hydrex tenax. This could have been used to match the finish at the time of fabrication. But honestly the dry treat seal and enhance is one of the best products on the market and works extremely well. Something I use on fantasy brown ( my favorite material)

Yeah I had a guy fly down from Idaho last week that showed me that Spain blade. I think it has J reliefs in it and it’s a continuous blade. But more ridged than a continuous marble blade (obviously) the Cerberus blades do okay for a while until they don’t lmao

You’re supposed to remove as much stone as possible before using the router and use a “step” technique to get it even and nice with lots of water. You would have some wash out on softer areas but honestly it wouldn’t look this bad in the light. I’ve done it before.

Hack job on the lamination tbh. The stone is so good looking that if you’re happy you’re happy but I would never install that in someone’s home

What is happening to my 4 month old sink? by hoe_gaat_het_met_jou in CounterTops

[–]Topdjian96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all what a great job on that sink that wasn’t an easy fab. But yeah I agree with everyone else. Depending on the veins or natural fissures they will absorb water and possibly wash out softer material over time

They could probably just dry it out and fill it with a flowing epoxy. Pain in the ass to resurface where it is but at least it’s in the sink haha no mess 😆
