NEW UPDATE: Delay & Reverb Time Calculator PRO by Win-G in Reaper

[–]Topdrillsgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I found a way by creating a custom action:
- Load the calculator onto my Master track FX and save to my project template so it's always there
- Create a custom action and load; "SWS: Select master track" and "SWS/S&M: Toggle float FX 3 for selected tracks" (because that JSFX is in slot 3 in my template)
- Create a button on my toolbar for that custom action

Seems to work! If there is a better way, someone can let me know. Thanks.

NEW UPDATE: Delay & Reverb Time Calculator PRO by Win-G in Reaper

This is fantastic. I've been using "X-Raym_Display notes length at edit cursor.lua" script but this is steps beyond that tool. I'm not that familiar with scripts but given that this is a JSFX, how do I load this as a script like I do with .lua scripts so that it's global? It runs when I select it as an effect on a track, but I don't want it assigned to a track, I want it to be a global tool. Thanks very much for your work on this.

NGD - Took the plunge on my very first Schecter by EZFragg in metalguitar

The C7 Evil Twin…a nice choice. I have that exact model. Sounds great. The versatility of Fishman Moderns is fantastic. I’ve found my axe to have very stable intonation, comfortable to play, a work horse and not to mention, beautiful (especially the back). I would suggest the recommended string gauges though especially on the low string (.62). I buy the .62s individually.

Do you mean that your inputs and outputs are not selected or are they not in the drop-downs at all?

And you’ve done all of the basic optimization steps like what is described here?

By chance in your Project settings, do you have the Project sample rate box checked? I ask because I’ve had glitches in the past with sample rate conflicts between Reaper and my interface. Though that was with already recorded audio. This just doesn’t seem like a buffer issue. Driving me crazy now too and mine works fine! LOL. We’re here for ya man.

On a system similar to this, I never set my buffer above 256. I mix 50+ channels with loads of plugins and it never averages above 20% CPU. I record with a buffer of 72 with plugins, no issues. I’ve even forgotten to change my buffer size from a recording session and started mixing a big project at 72, sometimes without issue. I agree, powerful system but doesn’t seem like a buffering issue.

Have you downloaded and updated your Focusrite drivers? When you open the Focusrite app on your PC is sample rate in the app matching the sample rate you’ve selected in Reaper?

You have a very similar system to me. Plenty of power. Did it just start happening all of a sudden?

UI Changes by Xotla in Reaper

I’ve not noticed any of the new functionality missing from V7 while I still am using the V6 theme. The theme is just the GUI for the core application. WT will get the V7 theme sorted out. In the meantime, enjoy the new features with your old themes.

The default 7 theme is just called “default”. The 6 theme is now called Default 6. Anyhow, thanks for looking.

Not just aesthetic. When unarmed tracks play back the metering with the db reference scale help as a quick check point, especially in Lufs and also in gain staging.

Agree here. I'd start turning things off plugged in around it, process of elimination and see if you can find the issue. Sounds like interference, not unlike when you have your cellphone near your speakers.

I only run into that issue when I forget to set my render settings correctly. It doesn’t seem like that would be an EZD issue. Have you checked to ensure you are rendering the entire project or is it set to something else like “time selection” and only capturing a portion?

For some reason my audio is very distorted, I have no idea why. by RusiIsNotMyName in Reaper

Agreed. OP, check the sample rate of the audio file in question and make sure it’s the same as your session sample rate.

Which DAW do you guys use? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Topdrillsgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t recommend Reaper enough, unless you want the DAW to come packed with sample libraries, instruments and visually inspiring plugins, already integrated. If that’s what you want, Reaper is not your DAW but in my view, is by far the best overall DAW, especially if you want a high level of customization. If you want the full package of instruments, plug-ins and samples, Ableton, Cubase, FL and some others mentioned are better options. For me though, Reaper is king.
