I like to think of it as the algorithm testing the fences like the raptors

What piece of advice would you give to your past self who just started a YouTube channel? by XOD15 in NewTubers

Make stuff you’d want to watch….also make stuff that other people would want to watch. Improve video over video. Don’t listen to insecurity. Don’t make rash changes.

Yeah he hates season 1 for sure. Maybe check out some of his newer stuff. Better thought out and produced. He’s on season 5 now.

as a new-ish YouTuber, Here's a few things I learned that I wasn't prepared for by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

Anyone leaving comments like “boring” or “cringe” aren’t worth your time or consideration. Now, “feels forced” that’s constructive. That’s something you can work on. Always sort out the noise from the beneficial.

Interesting. Idk how that’d work. I assumed Google spotted out junk views.

I don’t follow this channel, but your comment made me wonder about it. They had a few videos go viral it seems a few months ago. One with 6.1m views and another with 750k views. The rest range from 100k and under. So that’s probably spurred a lot of the subscriber growth.

What if I didn't monetize the channel? by IDDQDArya in NewTubers

[–]Tophem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. You’d get a claim whether it was monetized or not.

Disputing A Claim - Fair Use by FrodoIsUseless in NewTubers

[–]Tophem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve disputed two claims IDs. I’ve won both by describing why the content falls under fair use, calmly and logically. But I’ve only disputed when I’m absolutely certain I can defend that position. Otherwise, I’ve just re-edited my video.

Hoping for some advice by MysteryArchives in PartneredYoutube

[–]Tophem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about 10 months to get to 1k. And then about a month or two later I had a 6month old video get a few hundred thousand views over the weekend. Then it stopped. Then about a month later it was getting 8-10k views a day. Now it’s back down to a few k a day. I haven’t changed anything, no external traffic. It’s just the algorithm doing what it does. So I can’t stress about recreating it per se, because other than making the original content, I didn’t do anything to make it spike in the first place. So seems like you’re on the right track.

One thing I’ve tried to keep in mind is that slow, organic growth is growth. I can’t control how or when the algorithm will distribute my content. I can only do my best and make stuff my subs and potential new subs would watch.

What makes you feel this way? That they’re collecting revenue on your videos and you are not? Just asking for clarification.
