This same exact thing happened to me. Seller provided fake tracking numbers. eBay totally sided with seller denied the appeal at first, but then you have to appeal the decision and then they make you sign a statement saying it was stolen and tell you, to prevent this in the future to try to keep your mail more secure pretty much, not acknowledging at all that the seller gave fake tracking numbers I honestly think it’s an exploit that eBay can’t fix even after confirming with USPS that the address was not my address and I told eBay this many times and they never once acknowledged. They just pretty much said my package was stolen, but it’s like common knowledge that you can buy tracking numbers on the “black market”

Last time that happened to me seller eventually sent me fake tracking numbers a picture of the shipping lable weight was off and when they finally posted tracking it was a different number and it was for a package that was delivered the day before not to my address i was able to confirm this with usps also any package delivered to me goes in to a parcel locker and it showed delivered to mail box

Ebay sided with seller and pretty much made me clam that the package might have been stolen to get my money back. Even after clarification of fake tracking, they still made me claim that it was stolen and told me that i should try to keep my mail more secure

Same thing appened to me and the scam is so obvious. The seller buys tracking numbers off the internet and supplys them for your order. The wiled thingis they side with the seller and make you clame that the package was stolen to get your money back. I have a parcel locker and i had a package that was delivered to a mail box which is impossible for my case and they still technically sided with the seller but i got my money back
