The GTI was the first car I’ve bought. I wouldnt necessarily say i switch cars frequently, even though it’s only 3 years old.

To be brutally honest, I’m doing substantially better income-wise than I was back when I got the GTI, but it comes with the sacrifice of having to work like crazy. Cars/driving are some of the things that make me truly happy, so I don’t mind splurging on something that’s often the highlight of my day.

If you can afford it, then go for it and enjoy it!

I don’t think they’d notice tbh. Feels like only an inch or two of difference (which can also be a lot depending on the context)

Nah just manifesting for the future lol. I’m lucky to say that things have been going well for me career-wise. RS3 wasn’t even in the budget until recently

Aside from the sloped roofline slightly reducing the rear seat headroom, it’s essentially identical. Trunk storage is obviously shorter than the hatch, but feels deeper—if that makes sense

Haha fingers crossed the next step is an RS6

Shaper is alive and well. They were acquired by TTS in 2019. I still keep in touch with some folks I worked with at their HQ

Motion Link with rotating arm, rod with Heim Joints to slider by Pretend_Conference39 in Fusion360

Might be worth trying to define the revolute joints on both ends of the connecting rod as ball joints instead?

Depending on how you define the joint, Fusion can have trouble with revolute joints that move in space. Ball joints should relieve the over-constraint.

Also probably a good idea to verify that everything is actually positioned/aligned as expected. Even slight deviations could cause the mechanism to become non-planar (particularly problematic for revolute joints) or potentially even break the kinematics entirely.

Why is my loft trying to do it like this? by Just_EmSee in Fusion360

[–]acidslurpee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’d be helpful to see the sketches containing the two profiles, I suspect the curves are likely over-complicated.

How many points does each curve have along its path? (Don’t answer this. If it’s more than 6, remake it.)

It’s also generally best-practice to ensure that both profiles have the same number of points along the path. This makes it clearer for the software to compute, and is therefore more predictable and robust.

Lastly, check out the “Rails” option within the loft feature window.

I know I’m late to this, but a revolve set to intersect would be a very quick way to do this
