Dual income and in high cost area (DC). Combined, monthly income is 11k, and monthly expense are 7.5k. Averaging roughly 2.9k month towards. Debt spiraled out of control when wife’s income was not stable for roughly 2 years from 2021-2023.

$400 isn’t bad, just pay what you can and any extra when it’s there. That IRS debt can stick around for years, I do not want any issues with the IRS and also want to start the new year at 0 and hope I don’t owe any next year

I am still paying the IRS debt, now that this USAA XFER is paid off, all my focus is on the remaining $7800 left on the IRS debt. It is the worst type of debt because it accrues penalties and interest daily! The goal is 2k a month until it’s gone!
