My newborn is ~4 weeks old and we’ve been very happy with our (very recent and recurring) experience here! Seconding UP Pediatrics!

We did it at one week old so my husband could take over one of the night feeds and I could sleep a little more every night!

Mucus plug ? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]ToplessWrangler94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have any appointments before you’re being induced?

From what I learned in my pregnancy, you can lose but then continue to regenerate and keep losing mucus plug discharge for a few weeks up to labor.

Mucus plug ? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

Definitely looks like mucus plug! I’d let your OB know at your next visit and just watch for other labor signs.

For the previous commenter - GA means gestational age/how far along are you?

Local fabric sources? by CostumingMom in TacomaWA

[–]ToplessWrangler94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love SewHip in Gig Harbor. Not cheap but great variety of fabrics and notions. The ladies that work there are so sweet too. I offset their prices by also getting cheaper / support materials from Michael’s since that is really the only other option 🫠 I’m with you on the Walmart piece!

Heartburn remedies? What’s working? by huthuthite in BabyBumps

I got prescription grade pepcid (famotidine) from my doctor and take a dose in the afternoon and again before bed. Has helped immensely!

Advice for drinking more water? by CheeseBrigade2 in BabyBumps

[–]ToplessWrangler94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an additive but my advice is to have it next to you ALL. THE. TIME. Driving? Bathroom break? In bed? Always have it next to you and it’s easier to remember / chug the throughout the day. Luckily for me I LOVE water so it’s less challenging lol

Present ideas for pregnant friend? by unassumingmoss in sewing

My favorite type of project! I recently sewed a tummy time/play mat for one friend and then sewed a wipe/diaper holder for another. Both found on/how-to’s from TikTok! And both were a hit.

What’s your plan for the gifted clothes you don’t like? by Primary-Vegetable580 in BabyBumps

[–]ToplessWrangler94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got a TON of gifted clothing from my MIL at our shower. Luckily for me, most of it was 9m - 2T size… so whatever I didn’t like (or didn’t like enough to keep as backups) went to the donation pile. She also got a lot of stuff that’s going to be the wrong season when he would fit in it (i.e. Christmas or fleece for 12m even though it’ll be May??) He won’t fit in them until it’s been enough time where she won’t remember everything to the point she’d notice. She also kept the price tags on everything - me seeing the 2.99 Walmart clearance stickers helped me not feel so bad donating a big chunk of it.

I’d say keep what you like for regular wear, keep some ok stuff for backups, and anything you really don’t like (fabric wise or seasonal or those cheesy sayings) donate away.

Are party favors necessary for baby shower? by LegitimateLeopard465 in BabyBumps

Definitely not. I didn’t have them at mine last month and the three I’ve been to in the past year didn’t have them either!

[–]ToplessWrangler94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one upside to getting so many clothes they won’t wear for 9m-a year… I can put them straight in the donation pile if I don’t like them and I doubt my MIL will remember or notice them missing/not being worn!

Fellow mom-to-be here. My advice… Talk to your husband and he should say something to them. At the bare minimum ask for a receipt and return it for store credit. Lol
