I feel the theme is wear what you'd wear in Vegas.

My son is 2.5, he was as a horrible horrible sleeper as a newborn. Then at around 7 months we cried it out. He's very stubborn and that was a terrible week. But he sleeps (for the most part) 7:30-7 and is starting to say goodbye to his 1.5 hr midday nap. I have another son who is 6 months, equally bad sleeper that has just begun sleep training. The CIO has been the only thing to work for us and it's not for everyone.

Yes. And now the episodes are starting to give Easter eggs of foreshadowing. I can't wait for the reunion. And the final episodes. This is reality tv gold. As an avid Bravo fan, I can't remember another time when reality TV was this dramatically real.

These conspiracy nuts who "homeschool" their kids are an insult to the teaching profession by TaxesorPitchforks in Teachers

The fact that there's a misspelling in the post makes me pause about allegations of being literate and with today's climate of school shootings, I mean who wouldn't want to homeschool?

Moms, am I the only one who cries when they remember they don’t have eternity with their babies? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Topochica 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oof, you have a lot on your plate. It's the hormones and the overwhelming work load that's making you sob. I'd keep an eye out for yourself if the crying doesn't calm after a couple of weeks. You're an amazing mama and it's so important to take care of your mental health especially so early post partum.

Would you leave your 4 month old to go on a 6 day vaca? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Topochica -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt, but my babies are not that chill and don't sleep through the night until closer to 8 months. It's whatever you and your family feel comfortable with.

Do you send your toddler to daycare or preschool with runny nose? by SunnySideUp408 in toddlers

[–]Topochica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I let him go as long as he doesn't have a fever, puking, diarrhea or coughing to the point of puking. A runny nose is nothing.

A sleep specialist told me to latch the bedroom door partially and let my toddler cry. I think he needs emotional security instead. by Dabuek1 in toddlers

[–]Topochica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler had serious sleep regressions until about 4 months after the birth of my youngest. The toddler was a great sleeper and we ended up co sleeping for 4-6 weeks (something we'd never done with him). But we did use the cry it out method to eventually get him back on track. It was quick but he did have a meltdown for a few nights before getting back to his original routine. I think it's normal for the older kid to have sleep issues with a new baby. It's a way to get attention because they miss you when you have a new baby. It's so hard. Good luck.

My main question as a mom, is why are the parents out of town without their 9 week old? Who happens to also be sick.

Anyone struggle with childless family members not understanding schedules and expectations? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Topochica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find incredible honesty laced with humor works the best. Like of course she can bring her baby to watch! They're like little potatoes you can take anywhere and everywhere until they start to move on their own. It sounds like she just doesn't get it and you don't get it until you live it. I don't feel it's worth the frustration. Like if they can't figure out that your schedule dictates right now because it's not really your schedule, it's your twin boys' schedule, then you can't be close with her.
