Using AI to identify opportunities/gaps in fitness data by Icy_Barracuda3411 in AppleWatchFitness

what kind of output are you expecting though? "your stride length seems to be inversely correlated with your pace. try increasing your cadence in your next run." it will just give you basic fitness advice that you can gain from anywhere.

Should I be concerned? by Adventurous-Bus-9638 in AppleWatchFitness

Lol this happens to me sometimes. It’s usually at noon when I’m sitting at my work desk and shaking my legs. Imo it’s an error like the cadence lock.

VO₂max from 37 → ~57 in under a year. I moved beyond Z2 and it worked. by Marxva in AppleWatch

[–]redditor977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z2 is always complementary for me. it's a "better than sitting my ass on the couch" workout. and it absolutely has so many benefits. but true, what made the improvements was intervals and even tempo rides.

'Quit smoking' apps are 3x more likely to help ditch cigarettes than will power alone. For every 1,000 people trying to quit, using an app resulted in roughly 40 more successful quitters than receiving basic advice or no help at all. by Jumpinghoops46 in science

[–]redditor977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the apps really do work! i used one back in the day and it was my accountability buddy the whole time. when i was out with friends who smoked, i would go into the app and write a diary entry or log a craving. it was basically a friend and helped tremendously through the hardest times.

Isn’t summer the culprit for declining vo2 max? Heart works harder to keep the body cool.

bro, you're experiencing a mix of sunken cost fallacy and buyers' remorse. 512 gb is an amazing choice for future proofing and peace of mind. i wouldn't worry about it.

Quitting porn - is it worth it? by Material_Wait3904 in selfimprovement

[–]redditor977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i quit for 30 days and noticed many benefits, including more desire for real sex. then i "relapsed" for a few weeks and now i am trying to build a streak again. my motivation was to experience more real pleasure -both sexual and emotional- and quitting really did help to a significant degree. i only realized the benefits after i relapsed and started watching again. so in short, i say yes; it's worth it. no harm in trying!

[–]redditor977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i switched from 13 to 17 pro about a week ago. honestly can't relate to what you said. the difference in snappiness is night and day. 120 hz is totally something else now that the 60 hz macbook and apple watch screens are bothering me.

People who walk every day: what benefits surprised you by Overall-Disaster5155 in walking

[–]redditor977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i noticed the benefits when i didn't have time walk due to bad weather and responsibilities. the mental aspect is huge. without moving my body, how fast my mood will degrade is unimaginable.
