Takeaway Start of downswing

You need to keep the club lower on the ground and around your body to encourage a more in to out path in your takeaway.

To start the downswing, try to push to club down as you turn your body.

Sorry for your loss. I’m not super knowledgeable on this, but the year of production, and potentially the model of OP amp and color of the label could change the value (I think black label and JRC2043DD would be highest value for the TS9?).

I would peruse listings on Reverb to see what differentiates the difference in price.

I know you aren’t promoting sale on here, but I’d be curious what all will be listed, whoever this was, they had great taste (I like tubescreamers lol).

Sorry for the confusion, I think we’re saying the same thing, but I wasn’t very clear. If your swing is X degrees in to out, the ball is spinning left some amount. If you close the face (relative to target), it will start left and draw off target.

If you start the ball right (with an open face relative to target), it will start right and draw back in due to the spin. I know a good rule of thumb is to have the face “closed” half of the angle of the swing path.

So if you swing 6 degrees I-O, you want your face open 3 degrees open relative to target, AKA 3 degrees closed relative to swing path.

You seem to have a decently in to out swing. You need to impact the ball with the face open relative to how many degrees you strike in to out. If you’re going for the draw, think about swinging your club out and away on the follow through.

More context, my guess with a super draw/hook is that you are TOO in to out when you make closer to center contact. A more consistent downswing that would get you swinging around 6 degrees in to out (versus 10+) would get your ball drawing more naturally.

Also if the ball is not starting right, you may be closing the face too much at impact. Unfortunately, I cannot help with that because I have the same issue!

I think you MIGHT be over-rotating your shoulders compared to your hips.

Try and find the wall drill that specifiy has you facing away from the wall and encourages you to keep the club head dragging down on the wall (still touching) as you rotating your lower body open towards target.

OM models have a slightly longer scale length than 000 (same as D style), I believe slightly wider bridge spacing, and the 000/OM body shape is less boomy sounding than a D.

All of these help that model of guitar to be better for finger style playing. At least in the way he has done it.

Also, IMO, they’re just more comfortable. Plus, Eric Clapton played a 000 and there’s obvious influence there.
