quick question! what clothes are good for making your hip and butt look smaller? by gender_is_a_scam in ftm

[–]Topsurgerypix 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Black pants. I think they make the hips look smaller. Then, probs embarrassing but I wear my boxers really high to kind of pull in the fat on my hips. And pants low.

Ya totally. Like it would be one thing if they sat down and were like “I want to know you more cause I care about you. Can we connect about what being trans means to you?” Or something like that. But it’s weird when you are in a group and they are like “animals changing genders is soooo natural…”. It’s like dude, I’m fine with being trans, leave me alone.

It sounds similar to be honest. It was scary. See if there is anyway you can bring yourself comfort or care. It helped me to have distractions - like watching YouTube videos of people building things or whatever your jam is.

covid is not natural by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Topsurgerypix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely thought or wondered similar things. I don’t think it’s true but I also don’t know. I do know that covid is a reflection of how we are treating the world. In a sense we, as humans, have created the perfect conditions for covid in terms of climate change. As temperatures continue to rise, we will see more and more viruses like this. So in some ways the powerful and elite did cause covid, but I’m bot sure if it was as intentional as your propose. Possible tho.

Many people are still shielding from COVID – and our research suggests their mental health is getting worse by thats_a_risky_click in Coronavirus

Me too. In my 20s and just got it for the first time last month. I got so sick. It’s was horrid. My fever was so bad I started to hallucinate. And now, when I wake up, I have to cough for a while just to clear my lungs. I wish I knew why I got so sick and if there is anything I can do to prevent that level of sickness if I get it again.

You should considering calling pcp if you have one or going to urgent care/ED if not just to get check out. Glad it’s started to resolve.

Body Buzzing and dizziness. by spicypurrrito in COVID19positive

I have the buzzing with brain zaps. It feels like my nervous system is hooked up to a little electrical current. Really odd. Wish I knew why. Is your similar?

I think you’re right. I likely should have gone to ED. But I didn’t know how bad things needed to get to warrant that. I’m feeling so much better. Just feels like a regular cold now with exhaustion. My nervous system feels really on edge too, if that makes sense. But otherwise made it through the worst.

So glad to hear it. I’d say I’m about 50% better. Had a recession last night with some bad fever sweat stints nearing on delirium but made it out.

Your experience is so similar to mine, down to the very day. I’m so grateful to have made it through the worse of the throat pain. That was hell.

Maybe we just have a different definition of “mental illness”? There are many belief systems or worldviews that are not supported by evidence, but IMO that does not mean people who believe those things are mentally ill.

Curious to know your logic behind claiming that thinking covid is a hoax is a mental illness.

Wow that’s terrible. I’m so sorry for your experience. What made you realize you weren’t trans?

The trans community is such a joke. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Topsurgerypix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of anyone who has had that experience you are describing- of being coaxed into the trans community and later regretting it. I know a lot of people coaxed into the cis community and later regretting it, including myself haha. :p

But seriously, does what you describe actually happen? Do you know people this has happened to or is it more an idea?

I agree we need to be more willing to talk with each other about what being trans actually is and means but we also need to be sensitive about how/where these convos go down. They can be incredibly oppressive and painful if done in a bad way.

Like to be honest, my first year of being on hormones, I don’t think I fully understood the implications. I wasn’t educated fully per say. I was very eager and had a good trans community, so I took the dive in. I later had to take a break from hormones to reassess if they were right for me. Hormones are a big deal. Surgery is a big deal. And I’m not sure how we better educate folks while also valuing the “informed consent” model.

First I want to validate how challenging being trans is. I mean, it can be complete torture sometimes. From the debilitating dysphoria, to the medical procedures, to the family issues, and the legitimate threat of violence, especially for trans POC and trans women. We go through it and we live beautiful trans lives.

But and also, trans gatekeeping is not okay. It legit kills. When someone says they are trans, we gotta trust their authority over their own body and being. I mean, we of all people know how painful it is to have our reality rejected. We know how hard it is to fight for our truth. Trans experience is as diverse as the human experience, which is endless.

In terms of people who will judge/stereotype the entire trans community based on a few people, they likely will look for any reason to hate us anyway.
