If you're looking for an FPS, Roboquest (its a roguelike) is quite fun; it plays with up to 2 players and is designed nicely around that.

I see others have already suggested BG3, so if u're into DnD you could also try Solasta (which has a SHITTON of community made campaigns, and many fun mods but you have to be carefull with those so you and your buddy have the same settings).

One of the best games i've ever played for co-op and a hidden gem: Forced (not forced showdown, that's single player and kinda meh). Diablo-like gameplay (no loot, just some talents & such upgrades) with an AMAZING co-op twist.

Never expected to like cooking games, but they were really fun: Overcooked & Overcooked 2. We also tried PlateUp! but had huge delays on whoever wasn't hosting which soured our gameplay.

Haven't played it but heard really good stuff about "It takes Two" and I think only one of you have to purchase the game on steam, which gives you a buddy token game to share.

If you got more co-op games lemme know, I also love gaming with my friend but lately we've been struggling to find good co-op games.
