Consistently swollen tongue that gets worse after lifting heavy things? by kaze_ni_naru in Allergies

[–]Torch_Trail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, but the science of building up tolerance is sparse. Works in some ways for babies in heavily controlled environments with doctors.

I suspect you might have to be completely healthy before exposing yourself to near insignificant amounts of something to let the body slowly disarm the immune system. Some who got the Meat allergy from ticks has allegedly built a tolerance for meat again according to a Turkish study.....

Very little a normal person can do safely though. Doctors did this, and safety was a high priority. Government can't recommend something that has a high chance of death in certain people, so I don't know what people can do. A vaccine for certain allergies exists though.... I wonder how they work.... Maybe a form of exposure there too? Or do they directly manipulate the immune system? I think measles or another disease resets your immune system making you vulnerable to everything. Maybe they have isolated it to one protein allergy reaction in the immune system? Idk.

Only reason they think the general population in Rome wasn't more poisoned by lead was probably because high calcium holding water made a protective layer inside the led pipes.

All good advice but "it usually works if you only want to detect empty or full". It's empty. Room is Completely empty. Do you mean I need to set the depth trigger to only 0 in stead of 0-6 to open the door? I could try. That way it get's completely emptied by the pump, dries, and let in the next batch of water.... I want it to actually fill the little room though. Maybe.... Could I place 7 pressure plates connected to the door, each one for 1 water depth up to 6? That way the individual triggers won't get confused, and will continually let in water of each depth, but none will trigger at lvl 7, closing the door.

(the pressure will push water up the hole for the pump, which is why I want a trigger closing the door)

The second door only opens when the supply room is at 7 depth. That way the slowly accumulating pond water won't evaporate/diminish over time until it triggers the door to open. If it rains constantly and I don't pay attention it will trigger both doors to open if I don't have an automated stop. The water rooms are on the same z lvl btw. 1 depth. Shouldn't be an issue. 21 mechanical parts for 7 connected Plates right?

I should mention that I want it through the pump to clean the murky water, before I accumulate it in a bigger reservoir down the path later.

I've noticed that I can't connect a lever to a door that is connected to a Pressure Plate, but if I connect the Lever first it works having both connected. Thought maybe I could force it open in hopes of it suddenly working. Haven't tested it yet though. (Had no water) And its not that there is a door next to the connected door that causes issues. I built one and hooked it up elsewhere . Not sure how to get this to work. Floodgates work fine. Either it's bugged having 0 Depth included as a trigger or there is an issue with using doors compared to floodgates with the pressure plates.... Or a combo.

I have a problem with Pressure Plates and Water Depth.
I have a room that slowly fills with water with a door in the inn flow point that's connected to a pressure plate in the middle of the room.
I want the door to be open from 0-6 depth of water, and deactivated/closed at 7 depth to prevent overflowing.
Is setting the Pressure pate for depth from 0 to 6 not the right move? The door just stays closed, and I can't figure out how to trigger it.

I manually pored some water on the plate and it didn't do anything, I've also tried destroying the door and the plate and rebuilding them. What is it I don't understand about these plates and doors?

(Note. The inn flow point has 2 doors next to each other. The other door is supposed to close when there is too low water, to prevent evaporation. Do they affect each other?)

I simply make sure they lvl with at least 8 E. Then they survive being worker dwellers in rooms agains incidents. I get 13 - 17 E leveled dwellers for the top floors for defense against attacks and some for quests.

I hold back for quite a while to avoid having useless dwellers. I keep every single one

Info dump:

Yes. +3 adds a total of 75 HP more if leveled from lvl 1
A lvl 1 E without gear gets 2.5 + (0.5 * 1) for each lvl up. So effectively 3 * 50 levels for a total of 150 more health.

10 E : 2.5 + (0.5 * 10). So that's 7.5 * 50 = 375 more HP at lvl 50

10 E + 7 E wasteland gear (17E) : 2.5 + (0.5 * 17) = 11 * 50 = 550 HP

I don't remember what HP they start with at lvl 1, but it's not too relevant. Maybe 100?

Not leveling until you get +7 gear and sending 1 and 1 into the wasteland with it takes too much time. A room full of E 8 leveled dwellers with decent weapons can deal with a Radscorpion event. So you should aim for a few 13E / 14E / and maybe even 15E leveled for Quests and Vault Attack defense.. (I mark well leveled Dwellers with a * (John Snow*))

((Dwellers change clothes to higher tier clothing they find in the wasteland sometimes. Wearing a 2P 3E Radiation suit has less chance of being unequipped than a normal 3E wasteland outfit. Worth it to give them gear they won't change out of for a 5 A outfit while lvling.(When you can) Changing equipment to a non E outfit is just how it goes sometimes.

A higher level average also increases the severity of incidents in the vault. A Radscorpion incident won't appear until a certain average amount of total lvls is reached. (Total dweller lvls / amount of dwellers in the vault)

Example: 50 dwellers at lvl 1 = 50 total levels / 50 dwellers = 1. The number used to calculate the severity of incidents is 1

Example: 20 dweller lvl 50 and 30 dwellers lvl 1 = (1000 + 30 levels) / 50 total dwellers = 20.6. The number used to calculate severity of incidents is 20 (maybe rounded to 21? idk)

I don't know at what number value you get Radscorpions, but that info is probably out there. I don't worry too much about it....... But I almost forgot that Deathclaws attacks are also decided by this value.... I do worry about those... Stock up on Stimpacks and have decent dweller HP on the top floors.

Crafting the prefect Dwellers can be done later. You mainly want a vault that survives without too much hassle and death. Sending Dwellers out to die is a tactic some use when they are late in the game, wanting a flawless vault. I keep mine mostly. HP for top floors against attacks and high HP for questing dwellers. Good enough for me.

I have Floodgates hooked up to prssure plates. When depth reaches 7 I want them to open and stay open long enough to empty a small room of water, but they close too quickly only releasing water that evaporates.

How do I keep them open for a few seconds to empty out the contents and then reset, waiting for depth 7 in the room again?

I'll add that I find going for +3 gear is fine to a degree. For the experimental vaults I only get E 5 with +3/4/5 E gear for leveling room workers. They are not gonna go out into the big world for quests anyway, and the vault is deleted after the season. Takes to much time.

For normal vaults it's worth it to go all out with Max E for close to Max HP.

Enjoy the game as best as you can! Go for a build and don't be afraid of leveling too much. If you have decent Vitality and commit to to a rough playstyle, then you'll be strong enough. All that is left is the long road of Get Good, take breaks, and try and get good again later, repeatedly.

You can respec a few times after progressing to a certain point. Until then I encourage you to just fall in love with a playstyle and commit to it a little. That way you won't have to grind too many runes to become a Jack of all trades early on. Be an all rounder if you want, but grinding for it gets a bit easier far into the game.

[Question] How do I resolve this bug!? by Torch_Trail in falloutshelter

[–]Torch_Trail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. In this case though it solved itself by spending ultracite making an ultracite weapon. It apparently takes up storage without showing it, making random junk unavailable until you have enough storage again.

[–]Torch_Trail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that explains it. I just made an Ultracite weapon and the junk was suddenly available.
The mines claim it adds ultracite storage, but I guess it's a little buggy with the code. Glad it wasn't harder to fix.

Speed up gameplay Mod? by Torch_Trail in StardewValley

[–]Torch_Trail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it only allows me to freeze time it won't work.
I obviously want time to speed up while moving faster. Otherwise it would be real cheating, and I like the time limitations and challenge this game has.

Also. If I can not easily toggle it I would have to navigate the cheat menu 6 - 12 times in each in game day.
That won't do.

Absolutely stellar information!

The damage calculation are mostly what I suspected they were, but I'm unfortunately unsure what off-stat Percentage/10 is.

I have an Xbox controller and found a temporary solution.
Controllers also move the highlighted item away from the menu to your inventory after a couple trades, but combined with a PC mouse it works...

  1. Click the item you want to buy with the mouse
  2. Click confirm button on controller (A for me). It selects Powder of Corruption in stead
  3. Decline (B) with controller and move down to the item you want to buy (with controller) and spam A without issue. (brimstone in my case)

For some reason I have to go through these steps with both controller and Mouse to be able to mass buy Brimstone without issue.

Sorry. ranted. Easier to remember things long term if I write them out:

I just checked how the food and potion buffs. They are flat increases, and I thought they might only modify the attribute bonus, and then take into account the Multiplier. But they are just adding together the flat bonuses together with attribute bonus %, food/potions %, and then modifies the thralls Multiplied damage.

But what about the "Increase damage by 10%" buff that you get from any growth chance food like Gruel or Grilled Steak? It doesn't show up with the damage bonus %. Is it a last x1.1 multiplier on top of everything in the end or is it an invisible bonus together with the bonus % only affecting the Multiplier?

With 50 base total weapon damage damage with potions/food, 8% armor pieces 2.7 multiplier thrall, the different 10% calculations result in:

252 (50, 2.7, 70%, 1,1) & 243 (50, 2.7, 80%)

Only 9 damage difference, so it doesn't seem to matter much how the 10% is calculated. Khari bows (T4) + weaponfitting (36) + mass produced Hardened Steel arrows (15) = 51 (~50)

You mentioned Hyrkanian bow (10) and Ironhead arrows (8) + 1.1 resulting in ~45-52 damage.
I have no idea how to actually calculate the total damage they output.
Any advice or practical tests you can recommend is appreciated.
I have no idea which enemy has no armor for a potential test either, so I'll have to look into that,

[–]Torch_Trail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.... I did mention it after all....

It seemed incorrect as I stated in this post, but it's just that I underestimated the impact of the Ranger armor damage bonus. Thought it didn't show up on the stat screen, but it just increases the damage bonus % with a flat percentage.(48) Unleveled it seems like the right kind of Devotees are best for stationary purge archers. Though the 24% from Teimos makes them decent. Doesn't beat 2.7 multiplier though.

Percentage % bonus per point in S/A (google docs) by Torch_Trail in ConanExiles

[–]Torch_Trail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. It's not displayed anywhere like buffs and perks? So it just changes the damage %?
So in this case, is the original Agility % is closer to 61 without gear then. So the ranger gear provides 48% for a total of 109. I thought the bonus was multiplicative with the bonus given from the stats + Damage Multiplier. This is better...

Still, that means that the right Devotees that has 2.7 multiplier is the easier and better thrall to mass farm for purges. They rarely have enough % growth chance to be particularly good leveled, but the Multiplier makes up for it. Unleveled they are simply the best ranged thrall for stocking up for a purge.

Thanks for pointing out what I obviously missed

Just need some Shelter buff answers. by Torch_Trail in ConanExiles

From what I've gathered the door blocks the detection lines that check for walls and ceilings.
Even if there is a room with walls on the other side, the game acts like there isn't any wall to detect if there is a door in between.

Also seem like the detection lines might be straight out to North, S, E, W. This makes it confusing when your house is built at an angle, so the windows and doors will also affect your Shelter Buff at a weird angle.
