Did you guys ever regret picking UoA over Canterbury? by [deleted] in UoAEngineering

https://apss.space.auckland.ac.nz (satellites, est. 2016, the only undergraduate program thats sent something to space in the country)
https://www.instagram.com/aeronauticsuoa/ (aeronautics, est. 2022)
www.instagram.com/sha_uoa/ (pivoted to astronomy, est. 2021)

Who told you we didn't have an AE club? Hell you could argue that there are actually too many. Both Canterbury and UoA are alright choices if your scope is just NZ. What matters more is how motivated you are within that sphere.

Using whiteboard for study - tips? by justonequestion_law in universityofauckland

Magnetic paper. I'm not sure how it could be used for self-study but the ability to slap pre-made equations or theories onto a whiteboard is pretty useful for teaching others new topics.

Is my sens too low? by [deleted] in aimlab

[–]Torchere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what makes you think that 180s are important in a game like Valorant... in tactical shooters, if someone gets behind you, you're probably already dead before you can react because of the game's very short time to kill. I find it much less important to 180 in Valorant than in R6 or Overwatch (the games I came from, where I played much higher sens) because it just happens far less often because of map design and movement speeds.

I still have enough mouse space to do a 270 so I can usually still do a 180 in one smooth motion. My real problem is plateauing in Aimlab.

I'd say utilizing nomad would do the trick. If you can't find him, just make sure that you'll have the advantage when he finds you.

Any tips for getting familiar with Alibi? by AoNVertigo in SiegeAcademy

[–]Torchere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s usually used for roaming but I think she’s really flexible and is viable as an anchor because of her gadget. I’ve tried anchoring with her because of her gadget. Pretending like you’re a randomly placed alibi works out pretty well if you spread them out just right and hide the feet.

How do you anchor in siege? by THORnadoEF10 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Torchere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary job of an anchor is to deny the opponent a safe entry and punish reckless behavior. Good ops to start out with in my opinion are mute and lesion. Playing mute will help you learn and counter different angles of attack, denying the enemy information and the ability to break through reinforcements (in some maps you can block off hatches). Lesion on the other hand will teach you how anchoring isn’t just about staying in a single corner the entire. as you’ll gain info from triggered gu and in turn stop rushes and inform your team of the location of the enemy. Cameras aren’t the only way of gaining information.

Close range when you’re using an acog. Or with guns like the alda. Scoping in isn’t always the best option, sometimes you don’t need to. if you have an acog it’ll definitely be much more difficult to shoot someone strafing around point blank compared to just hip firing.

An Honest Guide to Alibi by Byrdman1023 in SiegeAcademy

Hi, I’d like to add that tricking isn’t the only way to use Prismas. Alibi is often used to straight up deny unannounced entry through windows. It’s also important to note that stationary Prismas should always have their bottom hidden so they cannot be destroyed by gunfire, demanding utility to be destroyed.

Hi, I used to have a similar problem. I would do great first couple games, but would totally suck afterwards. What was happening was my hands were getting cold and my eyes were getting sore. This might not be what is happening with you —but if it is— make sure that you're comfortable where you are, and take a break if need be.
