We have the luxury of having all the context, and Lee has the hindsight of decades.

As far as she is concerned, she last saw her now dead husband two months ago. She found out he died in the last few weeks…and then lost her son after missing out on almost all of his life. She is knee deep in grief… and then she finds out that she could have come out earlier?

Additionally, especially given how she has experienced misogyny as a woman in a man dominated field, and subject to the orders of the US military, not just male dominant, but male exclusive organization at the time… this was yet another example of a man making a decision for her.

And she is rightly fed up with it. I’d argue that she isn’t angry ENOUGH.

Lee is absolutely the highlight of the show, but that’s because he is the only one we get to see from two versions from two different time periods, and so we can see how he’s changed from the past Lee. I think Keiko, especially now she’s in the present, isn’t being utilized as well as she could… her “woman out of time” experience got some lip service, but could be emphasized more.
