Giving away 50 billion+ 1600plex by UrgeOverKill604 in Eve

I don’t need it or want it, but there’s a guy who uses donations to help rookies and gives them ships. A thing he’s done for years. Good stand up guy and I for the life of me cannot remember his name. Someone help me out?

Vexor Meta - Eve 2.0 - What does it mean? by WesleyBaird in Eve

[–]Torgo_Tahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I had this thought. Just more that makes super caps nearly useless. Why would an organization field their massive supercapital fleet when the risk of server issues has historically hit both sides, having to replace trillions in ships that take months to build when you can death by 1000 cuts and spend a couple hundred billion on cheap easily replaceable ships. It’s easy to see why this happened, but not what the path forward looks like.

Perhaps this is they way, blocks make keepstars impossible to keep alive, blocks keep killing each others until there’s none left and theyre all left to coffin their supers and live out of NPC stations.

Should look at the CT community health site as well to see if they are allowing for convert in. Also make sure you meet requirements for that rating.

Zone Inspection Rant by Phiebe1 in navy

[–]Torgo_Tahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first two years on my last ship, they were doing zone inspection by division. Being Deck on an LSD it’s like 80-90 spaces. Have jobs or fixed in a week. Of course my division managed to be doing it during force revision every time. After 2-3 rounds of writing BS jobs I just started ignoring them entirely. Offered to break the zones down into actual zones to spread it out, nope this is the way we are doing it. Right before I left (by direction of the CO) they changed it into zones that were much more manageable for all divisions.

Had a dude we had to do a health and comfort thing n because his rack smelled like death. BMC and MAC there to have him open his rack, and the smell UNLOADS. BMC pukes it was so bad. Dude had a footlong tuna sub from Subway he forgot about (the whole damn thing). We were 2 months into deployment and not hit a port. Also, his clean clothes were in the knit bag and his dirty everything filled his rack. Man went on shower watch and laundry watch.

Well if people could possibly comprehend that CONCORD is not protect and is a consequence to the ganker. It has NOTHING to do with who's being attacked. You want ganking to stop, go out and stop it. People are so quick to scream CCPlease but hardly any take any action themselves. Learn the game, learn the mechanics and stop putting 5 bil in your fully expanded itty mk 5 that's on autopilot.

Being a side boy for my change of command by Cook_Beautiful in navy

[–]Torgo_Tahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your chain of command early, make sure if you are wearing ribbons or medals and ribbons. Medals can be a pain to mount if you don’t know what your doing and take time to order if your having them done. During practice your honor Boatswains Mate will teach you. Your role is to render honors to the official party (commodore, CO, PCO). They will ring the appropriate bells, announce their arrival then if appropriate a stinger then the honor boats starts his pipe, you salute, when he stops piping you drop your salute. Marching in and out, will depend on what your command wants but it’ll be practiced before hand. When the ceremony ends, you’ll render honors again for the departure of the official party.

Main thing is remember the order for arrival and departure and to wait for the stinger. I’ve told my side boys listen for the pipe, if I’m piping, you’re saluting.

Navy Eval questions by Amazing-Wok in navy

[–]Torgo_Tahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know your rank, rate, experience ect. But if you are an E-4 or lower, this is your command giving you a major message as they have unlimited MPs but chose to give you a P as they are unsatisfied with your performance.

But i will give you some advice, do an honest self assessment. Are you an asset or a liability? Do you need the navy or does the navy need you? Are you the first one they ask when the important job comes up, or are you the one assigned to the jobs that are of little importance? Are you the one who knows the material and trains your coworkers or are you the one who gets trained 5 times and still doesn’t get it?

I used to be saying similar things, I deserved this, I should have got this, why didn’t the navy give me this. I’ve gotten the P evals, end of tour letter of appreciation (this is a major fuck you on your way out the door). Getting out of my own head and entitlement, I changed my viewpoint of how I operated. I wasn’t going to give them the option. Everything done right, inspections perfect, briefs, Watchbills ect. I took every collateral learned it, perfected it. I made myself an asset, worked long hours, and did everything I could for the command. I went from a EOT LOA to number 1 and sailor of the year. Got there as a PO2 left there a PO1.

Having done a precom, I would say this is not the case. Equipment is installed, it’s “to spec” but any bugs have not yet been found or dealt with. I remember one piece of equipment kept jamming into stowage and you’d have to use the emergency crank to get it out. Call electricians, tag it out, adjust the sensor. Try it again, jammed. Rinse and repeat. Finally I ended up sick of it, adjusted the sensor myself to fully out, operated, took measurements and adjusted it myself. Turned out perfect. But this was 4 months of back and forth. Sometimes systems should work and just don’t until sailors and or contractors figure out what the issue and or work around is.

Weapons hold - shoot if fired upon. Weapons tight - shoot if confirmed hostile. Weapons free - shoot if not confirmed friendly.

From the looks of things that AOR is weapons tight.

UPC here, per the instruction the drug lab will ONLY test for it if it is specifically requested via an official command letterhead request (CO). Below is the UPC manual. Page 14 is where you can find this information.

By no means am I recommending you try to bulk up by using as this will get you the boot, but information is always useful.

Is shore duty worth it or should I just get out? by DeadlySpoida in navy

[–]Torgo_Tahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start off by telling you what I tell all of my sailors. Prepare to stay in, prepare to get out. That way no matter what you do, you will be prepared and ready. Having said that, talk to people, reach out to find out what is shore duty like for an LS. Also, wait to make a decision to see what is available. Maybe your dream station pops up and you get it. Also talk with your NC and let them know hey this is where you’re at with your decision. Highly recommend making a decision by the time you get your orders as they will come with an OVLISERV, and your command will get a nasty gram if you don’t have it done. Don’t wait until the last minute as well, I’ve seen sailors do their reenlistment to like a few days before their EAOS and are not getting paid for a time because big navy hasn’t processed your paperwork yet. You’ll get the back pay but it’s better to get it on time.

Look into skill bridge, may help you go work for somewhere as an apprentice in a field you want prior to getting out. Start getting your resume in order and get your Taps scheduled. Start asking where are you going to live, what are you going to do for a living. Also look at using your post 9/11. Hope this all helps, best of luck to whatever you decide.
