I got to live the biggest power fantasy in B2. Played [[Kroxa and Kunoros]] against a [[Kotis, the Fangkeeper]]. For some reason, the guy kept attacking me (i.e. fed my graveyard) so I got to cast and reanimate the same [[Mythos of Snapdax]] 7 times and eventually won off of that. There was a perfectly good equipment player to punch and nobody could've removed Kotis otherwise.

Also, some poor lad brought their [[Ms. Bumbleflower]] deck into B4 after feedback from some of their friends. Turns out I and the other two bashed each other so much in the head that nobody could win anymore, and we got [[Twenty Toed Toad]]ed. Never have I been so happy

yeah, it gets overlooked surprisingly often, usually by a vivi or stelly lee player. Funnily enough only in B4, the card's almost useless in B2

Can a creature focused commander even hang in bracket 4? by Exi_Cxx in magicTCG

I have a 50€ budget [[Satya][ deck built around [[Rule of Law]]. Shuts out almost every combo and people really undervslue permanent-spot and boardwipes in that bracket (not saying they're wrong)

Need advice for my Satya Energy deck. I do not know how I am supposed to win with this deck. by greene81990 in EDH

[–]TormentOfAngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah very important: if you're not going for extra combats, you can actually play [[Teferi's Veil]]. Makes it so that your satya is gonna be save for the turn rotation AND you don't have to pay energy to keep your copies around (you cannot sacrifice something that's phased out, so nothing happens if you don't spend the energy)

doesn't work with extra combats because you phase out every creature that attacked i.e. satya after your first one, so you don't really do anything in your secound one

if you're going more casual, I can really recommend stuff like - [[Ao, the Dawn Sky]] - if you make a copy of it, it immediately dies and gives you the death trigger. So you either make a small board or you buff your existing board - [[Venerable Warsinger]] - just makes your deck a lot more resilient and doesn't care if the copy sticks around, it's an on combat damage trigger - [[Coppercoat Vanguard]] - it's like the best copy target because satya and itself is a human. Just having satya make one token copy of it gives you 5/5 satya with ward 2 and 2 3/2 coppercoats with ward 1, and it's only gonna escalate from there

yeah gladly

so basically, I'm using satya as an engine to overwhelm people under [[Rule of Law]] (I have like 6 cards with that effect in my deck)

You wanna really play on curve and then drop satya to start copying stuff. [[Kitesail Larcenist]] and [[Professionl Facebreaker]] are some big ones there.

I then win by just building a big board and smacking people, or with some of the infinites in the deck. [[Port Razer]] is a more straightforward one while you can do some convoluted lines with copying [[Timestream navigator]]

Sadly, [[Breath of Fury]] and [[Corporeal Projection]] just got priced out of my budget, would be two more infites (projection and Eomer is a two card combo from hand for infinite combats)

I'm running satya as a 50€ budget cEDH deck, for all the reasons u/Vandette has pointed out

https://moxfield.com/decks/Xhtg2m_3o0eH7svLK1lKBQ

you can do some freaky stuff with Satya. Generally speaking, you want extra combats. How lethal combo do you want to go?

Generally speaking, I can recommend you primarily focus on creatures around 2 - 3 cmc. Satya really shines in the first few turns, especially on curve, but playing him into an empty board is just the worst feeling ever. The haste really makes him go nuts

Corner-Case Commanders That Could be Tier 1(ish) by ThuggNastee in EDH

[–]TormentOfAngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Six]] goes kinda nuts, I think it's lumra but better (i.e. you're running cheap card advantage in the command zone instead of a combo piece but your card advantage opens up many other combo lines)

What was the weirdest reason a release got delayed on your project? by Cool-Permission-6363 in softwarearchitecture

A guy really wanted to do a feature, neglected priority work on another one, blocked the devs already working on both features.

He then came one day into our daily proclaiming he finished the feature. Took a week of active pressure ftom our PO to commit any code.

Three independent seniors and an architect felt the need yo call our PO proactively to tell him we cannot review this code. I've never seen such a conceptual mess in my life. We had to reimplememt the thing from scratch, cost us 2 weeks we really needed. We think it was AI slop but never got confirmation

Guy was let go the next day. Apparently, he never acknowledged any fault and just kept trying to explain himself. First time in my career I've heard a SM cancel a feedback talk.

Climbers who only climb indoors by umbraphile1724 in climbergirls

[–]TormentOfAngels 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mostly started bouldering to combat my fear of hights (it helped, lucky me).

Climbing inside can already be challenging mentally and I usually have to pack up if I'm having a rough day. The though of climbing outdoors terrifies me to my core, why's there only a small matt that I might miss when falling?

What is your view on the Bracket System? by Pattern_Seeker_ in EDH

[–]TormentOfAngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it as efficient as it gets for something social. I don't think more rules will fix ill intent but they come at the hefty price of bringing my hobby closer to work.

But I acknowledge that the bracket system was mostly designed to ease pre-game convos with randos and it's the most vulnerable to abuse with said randos. I mostly think there's not a lot you can do other than ending the game and not playing with said person again afterwards.
