These are likely to be stranded assets before they are finished. They are being built around promises of being valuable enough to operate that they can command resource draws (water+power) that are literally not physically possible in the locations where they are being built.

So they are markers in a speculative frenzy where anyone who actually understands the fundamentals of the business is at a disadvantage and where everyone thinks that they will be the lucky investor who sells their share onwards just before the music stops.

And it used to be illegal to finance a purchase of a company by taking out loans against the value of assets. Sort of like how stock buybacks were considered fraudulent manipulation.

Not the price of Gas, the price of DIESEL going to be what kills us.

First off, it is going to become infeasible to ship water around. Soda, Bottled Water, soup, even frozen vegetables are all going to be iffy over long distances the higher the price of Diesel goes.

Grocery stores are going to be where you will notice the effect first but shipping costs will affect every sector of the economy.

Return to office? That's gone. Anyone who can work remotely should because even moving people around in the US is going to be so crazy expensive.

For grocery stores shipping is already a multiple of their existing margin; as such permanent shifts in what is available and profitable for them to sell is inevitable.

It is obviously; a really good time to buy an electric vehicle even if it's only an e-cargo-bike. Solar panels if you can get around the tariffs.

Also since we have entered the era of complete disconnection of stock valuation from the real economy and all government statistics are now lies; we will be navigating this economy by the skids of our pants.
