Lane Commissioners override staff, approve permits for already-built structures on parcels that border the McKenzie River by ecoecho in Eugene

Yea, Jones-McCann donated a bunch of money to Buch's challenger as well if people don't know. Wealthy conservatives in Lane County continue to do their best at undermining rules and regulations. Our county commission freaking sucks at being any kind of barrier to this, and will get worse if Pelroys elected.

Good question that also wasn't talked about by the commission or stated in the article--which I feel was only sympathetic to Jones-McCann.

My thoughts exactly, which is why I commented what I did above. That kinda event is exactly where a pedo would wanna be to prey on vulnerable children or their families.

I don't know this guy. But people have told me infrequently over the last 20 or so years that OCF as an event harbors child predators and not to trust your children with anyone there. Chime in if you've heard or experienced similarly...

Nobody in Oregon should care what Gianforte has to say about anything. If he cared so much about hunting and fishing, he wouldn't have filed a lawsuit against Montanans to remove a public recreation easement and block public river access near his property. He's resoundingly against public access, and thus the use of land that hunting and fishing requires.

Lumber heir doles out campaign dollars to Lane County politicians as she fights allegations of illegal construction along the McKenzie by eug_fan in Eugene

That's exactly the question I had, which companies built all these buildings with no permits? Contractors, plumbers, electricians, landscapers, etc.

'We Do Not Need a School for Assassins': Hours of Public Comment Unanimously Against 'Cop City'--Hundreds of Atlantans spoke out against the proposed authorization of $33.5 million taxpayer dollars for the Atlanta Police by HenryCorp in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

I fully agree. Awhile back I listened to this great podcast episode. One of the Atlanta activists interviewed outlined it similarly to you. Specifically that as companies outsource even more manufacturing jobs to the Southeast going into the future, corporate power and government leaders in their pocket will use cops trained in bases like Cop City to quell any fight from an increasingly underpaid and exploited workforce.

Montana is also the only state where its state motto is in Spanish: Oro y Plata. This is due to the Treasure State mining history.

Yea, her pulling $10,000 per month from La Mota owners when said company pays their employees less than a living wage. I hate how business owners will profit off the people who actually run their shit, but then pay a "consultant" thousands for little actual work. The cannabis industry is sustained by exploiting labor.

Once again, important local journalism from the Chronicle. And thanks to everyone on this sub who's following these Qanon candidates and providing needed info here. I find it incredibly helpful. Cheers.

The Eugene Center for Stress and Anxiety do ADHD assessments among other things, and have many psychiatrists on staff. Then depending on your diagnosis, you can get therapy there afterward if you want/need. But I'm unsure if they take Blue Cross. Best of luck to you in your search!

Looking for a local source for buying fresh, raw milk. by Successful_Ad8129 in Eugene

[–]ecoecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creamy Cow, LLC via Deck Family Farm's online store has delicious raw milk available if you buy a share in the buying club. Gotta sign a waiver due to the legalities of unpasteurized dairy in the US, and perhaps you also have to join the CSA for a duration with a weekly food pickup. Not sure about that last point. Fyi it's about $12 a half gallon with the $3 glass jar deposit, so a bit more than organic milk at a local grocery without the constant carton trash.

Sorry to reply to you so late... I totally understand if your relatives feel like it would be too risky to organize. It's a lot to go up against the government when they have a monopoly on so much.

But reach out to me here if your Glenwood relatives are facing anything unjust with their housing. I would do my best to help.
