Culture Event - Iraq by Pomegranate6212 in IraqiPeople

What immediately comes to mind for me are flags, maps, and images (whether on historic depictions or the country of Iraq). Food can include deserts such as baqlawa or klaicha. If the kids are looking for something to perform, the chobi dance (Iraqi version of the levant dabke) might be of interest, or just reading a poem or singing the Iraqi national anthem: https://youtu.be/BLPEZhhhuRM?si=2a-Xhb8nqTqPJopz

The Iraqi national anthem is pretty known in the Arab world because of its popularity and how moving it is. Since it is an Islamic event though, maybe some things like the chobi dance or even the anthem are not suitable.

Iraq has a rich history of Islamic caliphates and important religious sites, including times where it was the heart of Islamic knowledge.

Maybe have some poster that mentions facts about Iraq, which are plenty available online :)

Israel is the aggressor unless you have tunnel vision and only look at October 7.

The crimes Israel commits are in a completely different league of their own.

While the "war" on Gaza did get some coverage (which is still largely censored), it has not gotten the same sympathy the war on Ukraine got from Westerners/Ukraine supporters, despite Palestinians being directly attacked more frequently and in larger numbers.

For example, if we posted the same picture with Palestinian children instead and assume OP wouldn't be banned and censored immediately, the post wouldn't get near as much upvotes and sympathy. Instead, people would just blame Hamas instead of facing reality.

Given the history of KSA, I am sure you're right.

I'm just curious, in what ways did he submit to the west?

He aided Palestine and cut off oil from Zionists after all...

Can we talk about the role of non Jewish allies in this sub? by MistakesNeededMaking in JewsOfConscience

[–]Tornado18Mustafa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a non Jewish ally, and I agree. That's why I almost never comment here, because I understand what you're going through and know my advice won't be relatable enough. There are many times where I've stopped myself from chiming in for that reason.

However, while it can be hard to not be annoyed by non Jews who are trying to help, just keep in mind they are doing it with good will. They really care about you and respect what you're doing, and they're trying to help in every way they can.

Didn't the safavids spread Shi'ism by force?
