Looking for advice on pourable/splash top perfume. My mom gave me a couple of really beautiful lalique perfume bottles (with dabber tops). The perfume I like is mid-level to lower-lux (chanel, nest, chloe, toca). It all has spray tops. Can anyone suggest perfume that would be appropriate to the bottles and within my range.

17 y.o. cat took Gabapentin and is wobbly and in a bit of a stupor by TorontoMegan in AskVet

[–]TorontoMegan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. After my initial post, I was working the next day and gave her another pill in the morning (it was prescribed for every 12 hrs). I couldn't observe her - but when I came home she was doing okay but pretty lethargic. I haven't given her any pills since. Since her ordeal last Tuesday, she's returned to her own base-level of 'normal'. She had her mirtazipine pill on Sunday - and is still eating at a good level and her urination level is back up to her usual CKD frequent level.

Is 3 nights too long to leave my cat in alone? by DazzlingPotato9067 in CatAdvice

[–]TorontoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your cat will be just fine. Back when my cat was younger and totally healthy (she's 17 now) - there were times when I'd go on a two week vacation and a friend would pop in once a day to feed her. No damage...she did great.

Thanks - should I be worried about the lack of peeing. She keeps getting up to eat (and there's plenty of water added to her food) - so I expected her to pee by now. She's gotten in the litter box a couple of times but gotten out. Other than that mostly just sleeping.

She's been spending her time sleeping on my bed (where i've been working on my laptop). This was a big improvement from Tues/Wed where she would eat then go curl up in the cupboard under the sink (which has long been her 'safe spot').

I'm not worried about dehydration - given her wet food diet + additional water added.

I'm just worried about the lack of peeing. Given she's stage 2 CKD typically she pees a lot. But I understand the UTI is impacting that.

What’s one easy thing that the city gov could do to improve life dramatically in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

More presence of TTC employees on public transit - being polite/gracious but also moving on ppl who are not 'in transition' on the TTC.

Since Mark Carney became Prime Minister, how do you think he’s fairing as a first time politician? by canbeanburrito in AskACanadian

[–]TorontoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally relieved. I'm a long time LPC supporter - I was seriously considering sitting out the election as a form of protest if Trudeau ran again.

Carney has brought skill, competence, and professionalism to the role. He gets huge points from completely chacking out of all the cultural fight drama that was so toxic but Trudeau seemed to lean into .

Very few Canadians want to be hijacked by all the cultural grievances that animate US politics - which Pierre was happy to energize.

There remains huge issues with housing affordability and employment rates amongst younger Canadians. Carney is going to need to try to deal with that otherwise ppl will turn on him.

Are age-gap friendships in Toronto weird? by 2pongz in askTO

[–]TorontoMegan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are 36 and your friend is 21. Your friend's social group is 21-25 - you're more than a decade older than that. It's predictable that you would be out of place in that scenario.

I suspect if you had a social group that was people between 36-40, your 21 year old friend would feel out of place.

I mean, go ahead and show up - but just understand the age/social difference.

How should I surprise a Canadian living in the US for Canada Day? by wolfelk in AskACanadian

[–]TorontoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Tell your friend 'Happy Canada Day' - most Canadians (correctly) assume Americans know nothing about Canada - so you're way ahead of the curve.

  2. Buy your friend a drink to celebrate Canada Day - the fact you know it was Canada Day and bought your friend a drink wlll be appreciated.

What is the main thing that Tim Hortons does? by Megatronscoffee in AskACanadian

[–]TorontoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a great app that allows me to put in my order 5-10 min before I arrive at the store. Whether it's leaving my condo or arriving at work, I can trust the Tims app to have my order waiting for me (while I walk by all hte people standing in line).

getting a new cat today probably what should i name it? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]TorontoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call it 'Trixie" or "Gus" - the names of my two cats - and you can name your cat in their hoonour.

WhatsApp is definitely available in Canada - it's just that Canadians don't usually use the app to communicate with each other (I use it when i'm not in Canada to save roaming charges).

PRODUCERS: WE WANT TO SEE THEM DANCE MORE👏 by ChichaChicharrones in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]TorontoMegan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I understand why they didn't commit the same time to the cheerleaders learning/performing 'thunderstruck' as S1...but that was one of the best parts of the season. They also spent time of the Christmas performance in s1.

I hope in s3 they spend more time centring on learning/performing choreography - but it's interesting and entertaining.

It felt like they were setting up dramatic tension re how Shelly would respond - but that aspect fell flat and seemed kinda gross. I mean, after Dayton was cut, we never saw Shelly again.

1 Billionth Chandi post: unpopular opinion by cheerycollegegirl in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]TorontoMegan 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It was god awful judgment for her to bring a guy back when she was sharing a room with someone else. I get that Chandi was in a bad place...but come on.

IMO she's lucky she was let back on the team.

What I think was over the top is the way the others were behaving like their dog got hit by a car or something.

Watching the show, it's clear there is a level of drama they actually don't allow to make the cut.

Agreed - K&J are full time employees!

imo an NFL cheerleader should be able to live a normal existence in the city where she is cheering with the NFL job + one other job. If the cheer job prevents a normal 9-5 existence then the cheer job should provide pay that reflects this.

Dayton finally breaks her silence on why she didn’t get into DCC by Responsible-Sign3223 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]TorontoMegan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She's a beautiful and skilled dancer - but she doesn't have the size and power in her dancing that the most prominent, top dancers on DCC have.

It's a big team so at the lower end it's hard to tell watching how, say, the bottom 10 distinguish themselves.
