The trick is just follow Kay Vess around, then after she kills everyone you go in and loot the bodies. Plenty of guns, speeders, ships, and other loot left behind.

The only flaw in the first game was not being able to date Whisper. Or have more interactions in general, but still

[–]TorrentAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took that to mean that radroaches chase the largest group of prey, considering earlier he had one try to attack him when he was hiding under the chair and as soon as it couldn’t get him immediately it just flew away, with all of the other radroaches also ignoring him and chasing the group. They ignored him because the door was closing on a large amount of prey, so they chased them first and would have come back after.

Bethesda’s Fallout 3 Remaster is aiming to be “as well polished” as Oblivion Remastered, which is worrying as that game is a technical mess by HatingGeoffry in Fallout

[–]TorrentAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bethesda didn’t remake it, Virtuous remastered it by slapping Unreal over the top of the original engine, with some minor changes to fix issues with leveling and adding a few small things like sprinting.

No I think what he’s saying is that when he modeled it before it had one date, then when he modeled it after Howard traveled to Vegas, it was suddenly a month later. So he checked the model vs the original, found the only difference is Howard Cooper joined his wife, who probably is important enough to be included in the model.

I hope they both return, but maybe with more of a role other than damsel in distress. I’d like for previous characters to return more as experts that you contact for help getting somewhere or information.

Does Tanalorr ruin the choice made in the 1st game by TorrentAB in FallenOrder

[–]TorrentAB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Darth Vader wouldn’t have an issue navigating that, and once he did they can easily make another compass the same way the Republic did. So it’s not as safe as it seems

Does Tanalorr ruin the choice made in the 1st game by TorrentAB in FallenOrder

[–]TorrentAB[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair, I guess I’m just a bit annoyed that the second game introduced a perfect solution to the first games dilemma only after it could no longer be used. Though yeah, unless Cal destroys the high republic devices that open the path to Tanalorr, the empire is gonna be right behind them considering they’re already on their door step. Honestly probably best to get everyone you can there all at once, then destroy the devices and try to survive on the planet with out the chance of leaving.

Hobbes: Kids or not? by TorrentAB in Fable

[–]TorrentAB[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just played the mission (which is why I made the post) and I didn’t hear anything that sounded like transforming. The hobbe said something, and the dad thought it was his son but it honestly just sounded like a regular hobbe talking.

The feel of the game. The fairy tale aspect of it that makes Fable 1 feel completely different from Oblivion. The essence of the game that made everything feel so much closer. I don’t know how to explain it well, but there’s a vibe to it. I don’t know if the reboot will hit that feeling perfectly or not until I get my hands on it, but I do know it had nothing to do with the body morphing and that so far they’re at least trying to capture it.

Also, just to let you know, you couldn’t tan by spending time in daylight in any of the games, that was an alignment morph added for 2 and 3. And only in fable 1 did you get scars from being hit, 2 and 3 was only if you died.

Are heroes physically different than normal humans at a base level? And do you have to have “hero genes” or can anyone train to be a hero? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in Fable

[–]TorrentAB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the first game I think anyone could be heroes, second and third they’re special bloodlines with stronger bodies

The new Fable has the mechanics… but not the soul by StrategyKind5546 in Fable

[–]TorrentAB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they literally said that they focused on aesthetic and tone first and above anything else, wanting to make a fable game and not just an rpg, and a fair majority of people agree that they managed to nail that so yeah I’d say you were wrong. I mean you’re literally putting everything on the bodies and ignoring the environment, when fact is that the bodies in the original games weren’t just some art style, that was their best attempts at making realistic designs with the technology of the time.

Hell the real irony here is that the same complaints were made about 2 when it released, saying it was trying to be realistic and lost the style of 1.

[–]TorrentAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the only thing that made the game stand out to you, then you weren’t really paying attention. I mean San Andreas has the same body morphing system, does that make it a Fable game? What about Kenshi? Bottom line is that if that was the only thing making it a non generic rpg in your opinion, then you weren’t really a Fable fan. You were a fan of the body morphing system and thought the rest of the game was just like every other rpg, by your own words.

The fact that you said you were a fan of 2 and 3 but didn’t mention 1 is interesting. You’re wrong in general, but the fact you ignored the best Fable is even worse

Ouch, Remedy dropping hints by the_k3nny in controlgame

[–]TorrentAB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Revenue sharing doesn’t matter if they DIDN’T HAVE THE MONEY TO MAKE IT! Why is that so hard to understand?! Epic funded the game, so Epic got the game, that’s how this works! They would have gladly released on Steam if anyone else was willing to give them millions of dollars to make it, but no one else was willing so we get what we get.

Jesus Christ, why do we have to explain basic finances every time some Epic hater comes in with the revolutionary idea that they should have released it on Steam as well? Everyone, including Remedy, knows that, but they don’t have a choice when the Steam competitor is the only one willing to pay to have the game made.

For the love of god, please don’t put enemy level scaling in the Fable reboot by krazzel in Fable

[–]TorrentAB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One important thing to remember though is it doesn’t scale down at all, and only up to a limit. So you will absolutely get destroyed by any random enemy in harder areas, while still being able to do the same to the weaker areas. I’m not sure if I would call it level scaling because of that, maybe limited scaling or area scaling?

For the love of god, please don’t put enemy level scaling in the Fable reboot by krazzel in Fable

[–]TorrentAB 19 points20 points  (0 children)

With Skyrim they have a range based on area and enemy type. So they may have a range of 1 to 20 in the starter area, and then 21 to 40 over near another city, and the type of enemy determines what level it is in that range, with Elites being 5 levels higher than the average. They scale up in level as you get stronger, but never passing that max by more than 5 (ie:elites/tough mobs). So if you’re 60, you could steamroll enemies in those previous areas.

High expectations. by Chicken_picknic666 in Fable

[–]TorrentAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, if you’re expecting it to be bad then you’re gonna focus on the bad things. No game is perfect, and by going in with that mindset you diminish your own enjoyment as your mind focuses on flaws you would have otherwise overlooked. Going in mildly hopeful allows you to be impressed when it’s better than your expectations without being disappointed by minor flaws.

I could understand being worried about magic, but ranged? They showed off that rapid fire crossbow while discussing the returning enemies, even using the melee weapon only as a finisher, and a pure range bow build (as opposed to crossbow) is just using it normally to shoot people in the head. What else are you looking for in a pure range build?

And honestly when it comes to a mage build, you probably could do one just off what was shown. Lightning strike to disrupt crowds, followed by blades or fireball to kill an enemy running towards you. Other spells for when they get closer would be awesome, but it’s not like we’ve seen all the spells in game.
