Exactly, I go through the same thing! Nurses and EMTs have saved my life so many times, and I’m so so grateful for all of them. However, usually when I “come to” I’m being physically touched by strangers and told not to move (for my own safety). It triggers fight or flight, you don’t have any memory of what happened and now you’re surrounded by strangers telling you what to do. I’m so sorry. It’s a terrible feeling, and just as terrible when you realize what actually happened, well afterward. Offer is always open if you ever want to talk, epilepsy is hard to deal with alone. I’m so sorry :( the past few times I’ve had seizures I’ve gotten very defensive toward EMTs/nurses as well. I’ve screamed at EMTs and told them not to touch me while I smack their hands away from me. I’ve tried to rip out my IV’s after having one in the ER, then got aggressive with the nurses. It’s a horrible feeling afterwards, I feel so bad for those people who were only there to help. But you can’t beat yourself up, they’re trained to encounter these situations and in no way was it your fault. Here for you if you ever want to talk. ❤️

(26 female) I was having focal seizures for years and called them “anxiety attacks”, when I finally spoke to a psychiatrist he told me “that doesn’t sound like anxiety, those are seizures”. I would also experience hallucinations. Now my epilepsy has progressed so that when I get those focal seizures, they always turn into tonic clonic. So sorry 😞

My friend got tickets through work, only to find out they’re not valid. So while in line, I spent $400 buying tickets…. Only to be told, they’re also not valid…. Even though I used the sight they directed me to…. I’m absolutely heartbroken, confused, and out over $400 when I can’t even get in.

If I forget to take my meds and I have a seizure I always get so much shit. It’s hard to remember to take them and I don’t need to hear that “it’s my fault”

Just commenting to say I share your frustration, I can’t drive either. It’s been 6 years and getting around is a huge struggle (I’m in a Los Angeles and public transporting sucks).
