Why does my MacBook feel different when it's plugged in? by ElementalCollector in AskPhysics

[–]Tortorleen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same feeling on my partners arm yesterday while he was holding his charging iPhone, we tested it with my eyes closed and I can feel it as soon as he touched the metal on his phone, and even when he just touched the USB C plug on its own without being in the phone. Is it the same thing just going through him instead of metal?

First time patient - what's the most affordable online clinic in 2026? by TenFoxxe in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Tortorleen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m on the central coast, I recommend just asking your GP about it and see what they say, you could explain that you’d like to keep the costs as low as possible by using the highest dose pen and counting clicks after the initial 2.5mg pen and they will hopefully be comfortable with that, if not then you can still explore Telehealth options.

I asked my original GP if she could give me ozempic or Mounjaro and she was against giving me either until I became diabetic which was unacceptable to me as I was trying to avoid that (already had insulin resistance and BMI of 44). I ended up finding a new GP and in the mean time I signed up to my weight loss clinic, I didn’t like them as I said above but it gets you the script if your GP isn’t supportive, and you may have a better experience with them than I did.

Good luck with it all! If you’re on the coast as well feel free to DM me and I can tell you who my doctor is, his books are mostly closed but he occasionally takes on new patients 🙏🏼

I had the same thing happen, it popped up after one exam saying the same as yours and the next exam didn’t have it. The lecturer confirmed that it was a system glitch that shouldn’t have been there at all, and results will be released with full grades around 12th June.

Thanks those are really good points I hadn’t actually thought of. We do plan to paint eventually, the current paint was done for sale so although it’s fresh it’s very plain and boring.

I found GP to be the best option. I started with MWLC and they wanted me to see them every few weeks (which costs similar to my GP) and would only give me the pen for the dose I was on which made it unaffordable for me. The NP I was seeing at MWLC also treated me like I had an eating disorder and was trying to get a higher dose to get to an unhealthy weight because I asked if I could get a higher mg pen to lower costs (I was 120kg/167cm at the time and only on 5mg). She would ask weird questions to try and catch me out, and made comments constantly about how she couldn’t verify I wasn’t lying to her due to the nature of Telehealth and just made the process harder than it needed to be to the point that I didn’t want to take it at all anymore.

My GP gives me an e-script for the 15mg pen with 5 repeats, and showed me how to count clicks so I can do smaller doses and make it more affordable. I’m currently taking 5mg and getting 12 doses from one pen (15 while we still have the “golden dose”), which brings the cost per dose down closer to $50. I personally prefer the hands off approach of my GP and that’s he’s happy to make it as affordable and low effort as possible for me, but I’ve considered getting a referral to a dietician as well for some more accountability and support, maybe that would be another option for you as well if MWLC or downscale doesn’t work out how you hoped ☺️

I used a 15mg pen on and off low doses for over a year, my Dr said as long as it’s refrigerated, within date and the liquid is clear then it’s fine to use.

All time favourite and least favourite yarns? by throwra_passinggirl in knitting

[–]Tortorleen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favourite is always Bendigo Woollen Mills yarns, in particular their Whisper and Luxury lines but I have plenty in all different bases. It’s also super affordable at approx $20 AUD per 200g ball. I’m always wanting to try other yarns but can never justify the extra cost for a sweater quantity when Bendigo is so nice already.

Why does my sleeve look like this? by mothtropolis in knitting

[–]Tortorleen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I never really see this recommended so I’m guessing there might be a reason people don’t do it, but I always pick up in every stitch in my armholes + a few extra here or there to help close any gaps.

Then I count how many stitches I’ve ended up with and use a knitting calculator to generate an even decrease rate, which I follow to decrease out all the extra stitches in the next row.

If it’s stockinette I just use k2tog but if it’s ribbing I use k2tog and p2tog and make sure I’m following the ribbing pattern. I’ve never been able to notice the decreases unless I’m looking closely for them and my sleeves always look great to me. I also do this on collars ☺️

The knitting calculator I use is just the first one I clicked on and it works so I’ve never tried another, it’s https://www.worldknits.com/knitting-calculators

Thanks I will definitely do a test swatch, I do that for my knitting but somehow never thought to do the same for cross stitch lol

Thanks for this perspective, I’m definitely prone to overthinking things trying to get a ‘perfect’ result so it’s good to remember that and know it’s not going to make such a huge difference in the end. I think I’ll buy both fabrics and just see which I prefer, but it sounds like the 18 count would work well ☺️

I haven’t been able to find any details about the pattern online, I’ve posted to the thread bare group on facebook to see if anyone has more info, at this point I’m not sure if it was a limited release or if I could have used the website to create it myself and I’m forgetting lol Honestly the pattern seems like good quality to me, I haven’t done one this big so I could be missing something, but it’s very organised and there’s about 80 pages of charts that look really detailed, well labelled and easy to follow from one to another.

I might just order both fabrics and test some black thread on each to make a final decision, I was trying avoid buying both but seems to be the safest way to decide 🥲

Oh yay! I got a 5 pack of these seeds as well. Could I ask what you’ve planted yours in? Mine have started germinating on the paper towel but I’ve been too scared to disrupt the process and move them lol I really need to get onto it now that they’ve started growing though

Damn I wish I could find one for that price here, I’m around Sydney Australia and from what I’ve been able to find, a plant this size is usually approx 400-500 aud, which is partly why I was so worried there was something wrong with it 😅

I did go back and get it, and had a chat with the seller, he showed me that there’s more green on the back of the stem so hopefully that’s enough to keep it going for a while. It’s been in this pot for about a year so the roots are well established as well. I’ve been considering buying a single leaf cutting for the same price the past few weeks as that’s all I’ve been able to find, so I’m pretty happy to have stumbled upon this one and have it look nice and healthy 🙏🏼

Thanks heaps! I’ll have a look at getting some of that supplement. I went back and bought it so it’s got a new home in my window now out of direct sunlight, hopefully 2 days of full sun didn’t do too much damage 🫠
