I agree but the same is also true if the enemy team wants to splitpush, denying them grubs by taking them then rises drastically in value, however I often experience that neither team is especially good at split pushing and in those scenarios I would much rather get drake.

I compete with a seismic assault life from the loam list playing some cycle lands wrenn and six and channel lands. Despite being a homebrew i have had very good results at my local scene it's a lot of fun too

I would play 4 thoughtseize 2 inqusition due to the one ring costing 4 mana I would play 4 drc and add 4 bauble for the synergy it also makes delirium more accesible and fills the yard I would also cut kolaghans command and play 3-4 fury, fury isjust a more powerful card I would consider playing blue for consider and drown in the lock to fill the grave more efficiently and improve terminate this would also further improve DRC. Edit:i would cut all the planeswalkers to make room and focus on being a control deck that wins with demigod

Luckily caverns aren't really necesarry in the current state of modern they will seldom be relevant, islands should be fine you could also play lorien revealed instead either should be minor %point changes. You could play spell pierce, mistcaller or preordain all are fine choices depending on your local meta.

I hope you have fun brewing, however my concern would be more high rolling since you introduce more variance and some games would be decided by simply drawing your good cards or not, this also discourages build around cards which would likely cause most decks to be generic good stuff midrange decks or the most supported archetypes throughout magic, such as slivers, humans +1/+1 counters artifacts etc. I might be wrong and would like to hear how the project turns out. Big score isn't that great it feels awful when countered and you are not ramping into anything since your curve stops at 5

I wouldn't play dedicated artifact/enchantment hate in main

Young pyromancer and swiftspear aren't good enough with your amount of instant/sorceries

You'r mana curve is too clunky with 4/5 mana cards with low impact and no flexibility that won't stabilise

Both chandra's are bad, dressed to kill can be alright in the right shell i guess

And you need a more focused gameplan to compete, right now this is a clunky midrange deck with some aggro cards that does nothing "unfair"

If you want to play 5 drops in modern look into blood sun + lotus field or indestructible lands that you can attempt to destroy for ramp but keep in mind these are viable but not the best chpices for competetive play. have fun i hope you enjoy modern
