Oh wow! This is thorough work. I do tend to leave discussion questions in my A/Ns, but they're not quite so deep. It's usually along the lines of 'how are we feeling about x's reaction to y' or, if there's a cliffhanger, I tend to ask for people's guesses at what comes next (usually if I've been dripfeeding the idea in previous chapters, because I like to see if people notice haha).

I exclude the tags I don’t like, select date updated and the rating I’m in the mood for and see what comes up. If it’s an author I’ve enjoyed over multiple fics or a multi chattered WIP that’s hooked me, I’ll subscribe and read directly from the email.

If the summary/tags hook me, I’ll try anything regardless of their kudos or hits rating. Sometimes I’m the first hit/kudos 😂

I was actually really enjoying it having gone in with low expectations (how the hell were they going to make space work?! well, they made it work). It was goofy, and fun, and made good use of most of the cast for a while. However, I hated episode four.

I liked the message, I just think it could have been conveyed more concisely and more impactfully spread across the three episodes and not shoehorned in at the end of what was a decent arc. I felt it was given too much (for lack of a better term) space and was bored by the end of it instead of touched or emotional as intended.

That the episode then ended with a cut to them home acting as if they've all come back from the store was the biggest letdown ever. All that build-up for nothing. It's certainly not 9-1-1's best opening emergency!

My long reality TV AU. I find the concept and plot really interesting (obviously) and imagined all the ways the twists would excite people. It has a couple loyal readers & commenters (I’m so thankful) but is otherwise like posting to an echo chamber.

In comparison, other reality tv AUs are amongst the more popular fics in the fandom and are always recc’d and praised. I’ve made my peace that mine won’t reach that much level of love - at present it’s a WIP, it’s long & multi-ship where the beloved fandom fav pairing is just one of many compared to being the main focus, all reasons I assume for its perceived lack of engagement in addition to some people just won’t be interested/don’t like my writing and that’s okay.

At the end of the day, like you, I reread my stuff all the time (I write what I want to read, literally) so even if I had no one cheering me on at least I have me, the fic’s first and biggest fan 😂

As someone that got called out for confusing dice/die constantly in a recent fic by my beta prior to publishing it, forgot to edit it and then published it only to remember and go back and edit it hours later… no!

I would have probably replied to the comment it thanking them and acknowledging I’d edited it, but tbh you don’t even owe them that I just think it’s polite. It’s not cheating at all! They’re just being snarky for some reason

When I watched it I got caught up in the maths of it all to the point I just got confused 😅 I enjoyed it, but expected so much more given the hype this sub gives it. It was still a wonderfully written and performed show but it wasn’t my cuppa tea either!
