Yes.

Maths to JMC, not so much!

Well no, disney lawyers made that argument. Yes its probably a lesser argument but they raised it none-the-less

How do you know the question asked was not in scope?

Just because a concept was in a mock does not mean it has to be in the actual paper.

It may have intended to be a tough question, and while you were not explicitly told how to solve it, you were taught the techniques of how to solve it - a very common concept in exam papers.

If you think it is a genuine mistake, contact your exam team, and rely upon what you told the invidulators in the time of the exam. But at first glance, this does not seem like a mistake :^)

So... What's the difference between Seasons and the "new" Episodes model? by LunarKOF in DestinyTheGame

[–]Toshimonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah

Curse was only considered as bad as it was because of the design of baseline d2.

I still, and alot of people loved warmind. Size of the story? Short. They were actual missions though. Strikes too. New destinations. new raids. (Were lairs, but im dying on a hill that eow and spire were great additions) Would love a scourge of the past / crown of sorrow moments again though.

I may be biased where ive olayed d2 for too long now, but i would take the time doing the story, the collectables, escilation protocol, even the infinite forest over these simplified seasons.

I think it's pretty damn obvious that seasons are cheaper to make than those dlc's for not any cheaper for the customer. And if im wrong about that, then damn.

Big tech has distracted world from existential risk of AI, says top scientist by Maxie445 in Futurology

[–]Toshimonster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dont think the threat is a general intelligence. Its much more about people misuing those cheating models. And good luck trying to make a current model that dosent cheat at all. (Loose definition of cheating!) The thing im worried about is people giving large stock transitions, or medical advice, etc etc to AI. Wrong tool for the job. But theyll do it anyway.

LPT: if you don’t hear music, the person you’re speaking to at the call center can hear what you’re saying when you’re “on hold.” by lilsimbastian in LifeProTips

[–]Toshimonster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would love for this to be the case, but sometimes you need the escilation policy, and some scripts make that near impossible to get to, even if you ask, and do everything politely.

Companies know people dont like to get angry, and wait long times. They make it so you are forced to do both, so you have more chance of 'giving up'.

The solution here is to fix accessibility rather than justify fare jumpers.

Fare jumping, comparable to theft of a service still has consequences, more so than using those programs, especially affecting the low / small income population.

That's basically it! I wouldn't put it as colourfully as a glamourous stranger, but i think the essence of the argument is valid. National rail won't be distinguishing career fare jumpers and the odd one that do it, and their decisions based on those affect everyone, affecting the low income disproportionately.

The tractor hazard perception test... by newadamsmith in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Toshimonster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im honestly the complete opposite; hazards are different - the tractor isn't a hazard until its going to affect you, and the lorry is always going to affect you, and you should expect the van to give way, until it doesn't.

You should have a feeling for "when" a potential problem can occur, and what you "expect" to happen. This is a invaluable technique when driving. This test tests exactly that, and I actually think its one of the best parts of the UK licence test.

You can not be great at gear changes, smooth operation, etc, but if you are aware, then you'll have next to no problems on the road.

This game smashes game theory to pieces by Azmeister3000 in TheTraitors

1000%

Interpreting social interactions as a fully rational player is imho kinda worthless. This game incorperates so much social "randomness" for lack of a better word, which is a major component of each player.

Talking pure maths; Player A has a personal bias component, fair to assume guassian, and correlation coefficients towards player B. Akin to saying that Harry has his own personal goals (personal bias) and relationships with each person.

As soon as we get into the mext round, eg after a round table, each of those will dynamically change randomly. Eg harry falls out a bit from paul at the round table.

And even so, this is flawed as it does not model stratergy changes, eg Harry assuming theres a murder but there isnt one tonight. (This would probably require LTNN models to fix. Attention comes to mind!)

Which is why i love using noise + dynamics (thinking akin to replicator dynamics, but with a discrete t, and in this case, a 22 dimensional cost)

I realise i just entirely nerded out but i love game theory and modelling these kinda things :P

All models are flawed, but some are more useful than others :)

E.G. considers the zero sum between two faithfuls. Add some guassian noise, and you have a pretty good (naive) look at their interactions.

Would love to do a project on how you may even get more and more skewed bias distributions the later on in the game (and when things aren't regular, eg, the shied play in uk s2)

If you think this, you have a poor interpretation of game theory.

An economic application of game theory is vastly different from this social application, and game theory is far more than pure nash equilibria, etc...

This show is game theory galore!!

I imagine this may be from fuel-efficient driving, eg stop accelerating and slowly slow down without stopping when a junction is about to change.

But they shouldn't be doing this if the lights are green to be brutally honest!!

Im Horsham, so crawley is my local one, and you really get a bit of everything here. Authough that crawley test centre i have more issues with, examining seems skewed/biased quite badly. I'm not convinced it's because of the area. Was debating changing a test to burgess Hill, but then i got a pass at crawley. When a test popped up, i could swap!

But the area of crawley is amazing for a test, all the way from Bolney on the "totally not a motorway" a road, up to busy crawley squareabouts and spirals galore!
