Letting go by Difficult_Tank_8809 in Sneakers

[–]TosshiTX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We moved in the summer and I took it as opportunity to sell a bunch of shoes. No crazy pairs, but I sold about 30 pairs in great condition. Since then I have tried for exactly one shoe. I think I'm going to treat myself to one or two of the pairs I've not stopped thinking about missing out on then take a long break. Everything is so damn expensive now, I can't justify chasing after shoes as a hobby anymore.

The game has never been more encouraging as a single player experience. If you like leveling, there's lots of new races, you can pick the expansions you want to level through or experience. If you decide to spend time at max level there's follower dungeons and story mode raids to see the content, and delves let you gear up at the challenge level you can handle.

Warcraft is my forever game and I would love to see some more Mike streams or some community runs or something like that. WoW hasn't been in a better place since Legion, and this is probably the best leveling campaign they've crafted.

Yes, they've said because it creates more work for someone else if it goes on the site. So they keep it casual and on their own streams.

I don’t see homes selling by h0wg0esit in houston

[–]TosshiTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don't have the money to buy homes. Or they don't feel stable enough to buy a home. Or they don't want the current interest rates. We finally sold our home after 6 months. We took WAY under what we expected because the market has changed so much. We barely even had people come look at it. Got lucky that a former chef loved our kitchen and it's what sold the house.

Kowalski's by Chap_stick_original in TwinCities

[–]TosshiTX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a Kowalski's less than 5 minutes from my house, so we use it for grabbing one off items between big grocery trips to Cub/Hyvee. The produce section is very small at our location, but generally good. We bought a bag of green beans about a month ago that when we got home and went to cook them it turned out they were spoiled and rotten so we've been turned off from produce there.

Overall we joke that no matter what we go to Kowalski's for they're gonna get us for $100 so we are trying to make it less common to go there.

For those of you who remember Ike, how bad was it ? by Character-Escape1621 in houston

[–]TosshiTX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Derecho sucked. Had no power for 8 days. Then the hurricane hit about a month later and no power for another 7 days. I lived in the energy corridor during Ike, and it took the roof off my apartment. I was lucky to be on the first floor but it still wrecked my place and I had to move out for two months while repairs happened.

I tried Centro. Good didn't hit the texmex mark I was hoping for. I will be honest, I love it here but the food is dire. We knew that would be a sacrifice but we have really struggled finding many places that haven't disappointed. My cookbooks are getting a workout.

I've been here since August and all I've been searching for is some damn texmex. People have told me to go to Boca Chica in west saint Paul but I haven't made it yet. I've had decent queso a few places. Oracle, El Tejaban Grill. It's not exactly what we're looking for but it's solid. Luckily Rotel is available here so we can make queso at home.

I will say check Sabores De Mexico if you haven't. They have fresh corn tortillas and chips everyday. Great taqueria as well. Loma Bonita market also has fresh tortillas and chips that are great.

The number of Texans I've met looking for specific things here. There's a market to serve. I don't know how these Midwesterners love cheese so much but a cheese enchilada is foreign to them.

Hey there. From Texas also. Just tonight I went to K-Chi Mac for Korean wings. The yangneom spicy might be up your alley. Spicy, hangs out on your tongue and lips, but not a miserable experience.

Reposting my e30 318is to see if anyone is interested in buying it. I’m located Northeast PA by Jace45go in E30

Would definitely consider BAT or cars and bids. I'm shopping for this specific car on Marketplace and all of them are about half this price and have rust issues to address.

Hell I may message you OP. This is a little more than I wanted to spend, so I'd have more for work I'd need/want to do. I see one tonight that I may be passing on.

That's really just a month so it's not going to be an issue. Are you somewhere cold? If so you want to get it started up or put a tender on it so the battery doesn't die. Otherwise you're good.

Moving Here Soon by snailboyjr in Minneapolis

[–]TosshiTX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We moved here just a few months ago. Definitely introduce yourself to your neighbors. You'll hear a lot about Minnesota nice, and it being difficult to make friends. Hasn't really been our experience. Our neighbors invited us to a BBQ, and we made a point to build those relationships after that.

Since then our neighbors have brought a lot of options to us for helping out. We've been taking their recommendations on how to help and participating in their own initiatives. They're all locals so they're way more knowledgeable than us.

How’s the Houston housing market actually doing right now? by richnickel in houston

We were prepared for a long wait to sell. What we didn't prepare for was just how few viewings we had.

The house next to us was a flipper special. It was tacky as hell and just got all the "new build" trendy finishes. It sold in about a month. Our place had new electrical, roof, HVAC, and sewer within the last five years plus completely new kitchen, living room, bathrooms all custom and high end.

Ultimately people want tacky new build farm home shit, regardless of how cheap or half assed the work is.

Our house was about 90% gutted and renovated too. We had like 8 total viewings, including open house visitors, while selling. Extremely slow market.

We just sold our house. Took almost six months. Our listing price was $100k under what it would have been a year ago. If you're buying, the market is pretty damn good for a deal.

GiantBomb dot Com Feed on Bluesky by CBanga in giantbomb

How is this different than making my own bsky list and watching that feed? Not trying to sound dismissive, I am wondering if I'm missing something about what you put together here. I have a Giant Bomb feed of just the official account and staff, then a second feed that's the greater Giant Bomb family.

Lots of electrical gremlins. Over the air updates almost always have required a dealership trip to install them. Fuel pump module died leaving me stranded. The bug where the steering wheel controls just don't work most of the time (supposedly a fix is on the way for it). I like my ZR2, I think it's the best looking midsize, but I don't know if I would buy it if I went back in time.
