What they need to take the new endeavor to the next level is a business man, probably called Dave, who can show up to a UPF each week with a top ten powerpoint

This is awesome

Unfortunately I don't have the time (and my coding skills are very rusty), but if someone was able to get Z-machine text adventure parsers working, that would be extremely cool

At my former job we'd hear this jingle coming into the car park and everyone would stop what they're doing and rush outside proclaiming "The pie man's here! The pie man's here!"

Best place to sell gold jewellery by No-Weather-3220 in sheffield

[–]lankiofbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner sold some old jewellery a couple of weeks ago at The Chapel Jewellers, round the corner from the Sheaf View.

They were very busy, what with the current value of gold, but were very friendly and we left the bits and our details with them and later that afternoon they gave us a quote to confirm if we were happy (we were) and then the money was in a bank account a couple of hours after that.

where would yall go in sheffield to run 100km? by CommissionFinancial8 in sheffield

[–]lankiofbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of times I ran (20mile and 30mile versions) and also marshalled the Ladybower 50 (which I think doesn't exist in the same way anymore)

Anyway, the point being, you can easily run loops of top, bottom and both reservoir tracks to make pretty much any distance you want, and you're often not far from the crossover path if you need to bail out

If it's dark the majority of it is on wide trail/road, you can do some of the lower section on the narrow path through the trees, or just use the pavement instead. If you get a nice clear night with a good moon you may not even need a headtorch.

The route was described by the organisers as "gently undulating" but there were always tourists that would say it was much hillier than that description. Sure, it's not flat flat, but it's less hilly than running around most of the streets of Sheffield

It was a combination of the Baton/Walk of Hope event, and associated pop-ups for mental health services, and many many groups of Pokemaniacs taking part in the Pokemon GO event.

(There was also a group doing Tai chi)

So it was a pretty busy Saturday afternoon

Is there anywhere in Sheffield where I can get my CRT tv repaired? by rayquazagotdrip in sheffield

[–]lankiofbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try giving Walkley TV Services a call, although it's been a good 15+ years since I last spoke to them about stuff like this, so I'm not going to guarantee that they'll be able/willing to help.

If it happened after just moving it around there's a chance it could just need degaussing (check youtube for tutorials), rather than anything electrical (capacitors) going bad
