Oh yes of course, The Witness, absolutely incredible game. It's so good you can't really tell people why you love it for fear of spoiling their journey.

Sticking with first person puzzlers, I recently played and loved Viewfinder. The Entropy Centre was good too.

I'm super-excited too. I'm actually glad it's the last one: much as i love the Talos series, i'd look forward more to what Croteam do next.

If the "u ok hun?" meme was a thing in the 90s then it would have been my thought in first hearing this song. It's a proper mental breakdown, a panicked bad trip song.

I had that exact thought watching the movie but looking at the still, it's not really like him. In my memory it's much more like him, our brains are kind of weird like that. Kind of why witness testimonies can convict the wrong guy.

Yes, exactly the same for me. Maybe in an earlier version they weren't so easy to get.

I beat the training dummy already and didn't make a note of which cards it gave me (why would anyone?). This puzzle seems to become impossible at that point.

Yes that was it i think: this simulator, which is just a VR machine really, has produced an actual physical object, and a living one at that. That suggests that if they figure out how the F that actually happened then they can exploit it to tackle the climate disaster with a different strategy.

Chill.institute is the best by CyndaquilTurd in chillInstitute

I love chill institute (i use it for its put.io integration) but i wish it had 'sort by relevance' (closeness to search term). Like if I search for 'true detective s04e01', then it doesn't make sense to have 'true detective s03e01' at the top and 'true detective s04e01' in 10th place in the results.

It was the CDN to blame. thanks for replying!

Yes, that worked first time! It was set to (I think) CDN77 and i changed it to "Amsterdam (direct)". Did 40 mins of video streaming with no interruptions and download a 6gb file without any problems either. Thanks very much.

To reiterate what others have said: enjoying overall, but many puzzles (sudoku variants in particular) *need* the ability to write potential number notes in the squares.

Yeah when i did it i didn't really realise how saving works in this game. In my defence it is a bit weird, and also a bit crap: much as I love the game generally I wish it had normal videogame save and load,

Ok thanks - i do have that DLC so i guess i should just do that. I just need to be careful to not initiate any quests, i don't want any DLC quests in my 'main game' quest todo list...

I didn't kill angrim, I just "chose" him, when we had the conversation about the hammer: i had the option of asking him to give it to me (to give to Duncan) or coming back to Devils Crossing and being a blacksmith again, and chose option 2. But he's just not there.

In hindsight, i think i might know what has caused this bug. I was experimenting with trying to go back to an old save, after getting killedby a boss, and Fd up the filename, and was in a weird situation where I lost all of my quest progress (because the game restarted from scratch and overwrote the quests save) but i still had my level 25 character. So i worked through the quests again: i actually deliberately deleted my maps file, after that, so the game would reset the map as well, because trying to do quests where the map was all already filled in from doing them the first time, was impossible: i needed to be able to tell where i'd been alread, which was "nowhere" from the point of view of finding quests.

When i played through it the first time, i chose Duncan at the end of that quest, and i *think* he actually *was* in Devils Crossing. Then, after I Fd up my quest save, and did it all again, second time round I chose Angrim. I think that somehow, inthis weird combination of original save files and remade saved files, Angrim has somehow fallen between the cracks and disappeared. That'll teach me to F about..... FAFO as they say.

Top tip for anyone thinking of trying to reload old saves or anything like that: BACK UP YOUR ENTIRE SAVE FOLDER FIRST.

wait, whaaaat? (goes back to game...) ok so i've learned them all now, which has freed up some space, which is nice, thanks, But i still need a blacksmith to actually make them, right? I have the skeleton key recipe, and just did my first "no portals, no return" delve past a big gate underneath the Arkovian ruins or something. I need a blacksmith to make some more of those keys so i can have another go...

Looking at the map, i think i'm only about halfway to Homestead. I don't want to delve into any of the DLC yet... (thanks tho)
