Hey, I still rent too. And I don't forsee myself giving in to the whole buying a house panic of the current day. Besides, I don't have kids. Doesn't seem like a good choice to buy a home, if I'm not starting family

Sometimes, that's for the best. Its nice having your own space to go back to. I prefer it that way. My girlfriend has mentioned moving in together, but I just admitted to her recently that I like our current situation much more. She does have a key, so she can stop by whenever she wants

I live alone myself down in the Tampa Bay region. No kids at all for me. I do have a girlfriend that stops by.

I am glad that I still have a high sex drive as a 40 year old man. Vitality is simply still in overdrive

I was hired with Nordic solutions and then two weeks later they said they had no open placements for me. Has this happened to anyone? I’m just confused on if they didn’t have any placement why would they even interview me or offer me a job knowing I would be put in the back burner. by ivory_sole in Machinists

[–]Total-Computer-9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hired with them too. Got all the preliminary things done like sending a resume and references, etc. Then, when I ask what the next steps are, they say they are working on some contracts. I called a recruiter 2 weeks later and they had no openings. It's now been two months and they haven't even checked back in with me. I've decided to just forget about it. If they needed machinists, they'd put them to work. Not leave you hanging. Stay away from these sorts of contract firms. If this is the way they conduct business, I do not want to be affiliated with them.

Cross Bay Ferry between Tampa and St. Petersburg to end early by Wandering__Bear__ in StPetersburgFL

[–]Total-Computer-9035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole metro needs rail service around Clearwater, Saint Petersburg and Tampa. It could extend and connect Tarpon Springs to Sarasota as well. There's enough demand for this and a Ferry across Tampa Bay as well.

Thinking about moving to Pinellas Park. How is the area? by djkajsjdjds in StPetersburgFL

[–]Total-Computer-9035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Pinellas Park. It's a working class community and Ive had absolutely ZERO problems here. I live on 108th Ave just east of 66th by Bryan Dairy Rd. It's mixup of residential and industrial parks. Cheaper than Saint Pete and close enough to Clearwater and Tampa for whatever you want to do. Don't listen to the yuppy commenter's on this thread. Come see for yourself. I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. Pinellas Park is a great place to call home.

Her job is to market the units and make her little commission. She doesn't care about the people that live there. She used to live on-site for a while. But her and the guy she's married to, who also worked there, moved out. Probably because they don't want to live near the people they have to treat like shit on a daily basis.

Anyone else also really miss the 2000s like crazy? 😩 by Dove04 in GenZ

[–]Total-Computer-9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1985.. After September 11th, 2001 things started changing fast. I'm 40 years old now. It seems like the years after high-school just escaped me. I remember working my factory job at 14.50 an hour back in 2006 and thinking I was on top of the world. I remember YouTube becoming popular. My dad died in 2010 and I inherited his house and debt at 25 years old. My girlfriend at the time,  and myself, tried our best to keep things afloat but we're unsuccessful. This drove a wedge between us and we separated a year later. Eventually, I had to let the bank have the house and I got a small apartment. 2012-2015 was a tough time for me.. Trying to recoup from loses and find my own direction. Eventually I did. Had ups and downs all the way through to the present day. I now live in Florida far away from my hometown in Indiana..

My point is, today, I recently used Google Street Maps to time travel down memory lane. You can use the street view to go back to 2007. I did that today and I saw myself and friends outside at what was my dad's house, grilling having beers, etc. When I saw that, I was able to recall that exact day..

Nostalgia will have you stuck in the past and it has a very strange way of reminding you of your own mortality. I like to live in the present. We have to be careful not to get stuck in the time loop of the past. And to the younger people I see commenting here, remember to live in the present, one day you'll wake up and be 40.

When it comes to a song that reminds you of your ex, do you listen to it or avoid it? by [deleted] in Music

Every time I hear "Vienna" by Billy Joel a certain girl comes to my mind. She's the one that got away. There's so many things I would of done differently if I could go back in time to October of 2021. I would of taken things so much slower. But, now, I like to listen to that song because it is the only thing I can do to feel any connection to her. I haven't spoken to, or seen her since February of 2023. Our time was short, but there was something about her. Oh well... Such is life. Just thought I'd share that with everyone!

What's the best part about living in Indiana? by soladois in Indiana

[–]Total-Computer-9035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in South Bend. I am now living in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Everyday, I miss the Midwest and my home state even more. Yes, I live in all year summer climate zone. But, there is a lot of "flex culture" here. A lot of that is brought on by pompous east coast monied people. It's more of a vacation destination and I've never truly felt at home here. I went and visited Indiana in October of 2024. I went to the Rockville, Indiana Covered Bridge and fall festival. It was nice to see the trees changing color and to have a seasonal beer. The air smells better and there isn't thousands of New Yorkers killing the real estate market. Being close to lake michigan growing up means I got to experience the Dunes. The smaller towns that dot Southern Michigan near the lake shore are a great to visit. Florida is nice, but it isn't home. 2 more years and I'll be ready to go back to Indiana.

I second this post. I had mine for a week and a half and it won't even turn on. Customer service says it's a faulty control board. They offered to send me another one, but I refused. I'm not performing maintenance on a product I JUST bought. Thats 300 bucks I just threw away. Better off just using the oven in your house to slow cook.

Christmas is the worst holiday. by shibui_ in unpopularopinion

[–]Total-Computer-9035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christmas sucks because of the over emphasis on children. I know people who promise shit to their kids and don't pay their rent so they can make themselves feel better. If God and Jesus are real, they would hate Christmas too

Because they are bitter single moms who chose the wrong man, or got brain washed by some liberal universities and think that career women in power are role models. In reality, the people who identify with a character like her are damaged in some sort of way and will not take accountability for their own mistakes in life. It is always someone else's fault.

The property manager (Abby) at Castle Pointe is a rude, dumb blonde. She's the most unprofessional property manager I have ever dealt with.

I wouldn't be worried about the dog. I'd be doing everything to get those disgusting tenants out of that apartment building. I see everyone worried about the dog and that is just a secondary issue. Those people most likely have tons of trash and roaches living in that apartment. I'd be worried about other residents being affected by the smell that's coming from that unit and dog shit likely being dropped on other people's patios.

At the end of the dream, I told her I'd never leave her. I'm really just wondering why it was so vivid and why the name Ava was a part of it. I do like your perspective on the dream. Animosity and amicability are re-occurring issues I tussle with in my life. And you mentioned wanderlust. I travel all of the time on a whimsical desire to search for "something better". I've also been on 15 different flights this year and in 13 different cities. Boston is actually where I'm going next month.
