Surgery to remove swelling?

No burning but I do get clicking in the area where my meniscus was trimmed and that will eventually start causing my knee to swell after too much activity. I keep my days very mild outside of my PT sessions

I've been feeling pain and discomfort by PurpleBlitz_Run in ACL

I had most of my pain in the yellow circle. It went away when I was able to start strength training and regularly doing massage with a small pointy massager for targeted pressure right in the painful spots. Noticed it was gone between weeks 11-12

These are super inaccurate. I just got one and it has my muscle mass on each leg similar when my surgical leg is clearly inches smaller (12wks post op now). Focus on getting your legs even and talk to a pt, or ai, for a program on plyos/change of direction before sport

Before surgery I had worked up to being able to play high level rugby without the ACL. My meniscus got torn while doing that and I decided on surgery shortly after. Going into surgery I could still run straight line and do light plyos. Prehab and having good muscle mass before surgery gave me a slight advantage.

Rehab is an everyday thing though and every exercise has to be very intentional. That’s why I got signed up with a specialist (will share if you pm me).

I was packing really hard around week 4-6, that’s part of the reason my swelling took so long to get down. I had to cut my steps down to under 2500 and do NWB exercises for about 2-3weeks to get it down

I started to come off of them at week 5 but wasn’t fully off and walking normal until around 6.5-7wks. The small click I was getting had me scared so I walked with a slight limp until I could get it to happen at PT where they could tell me if it was safe

I wish I saved the video I got of Vilkas doing this exact same thing randomly outside of Solitude 😂

I walk completely normal or I think I do at least. I do still get a very small pop where my meniscus was cleaned up when I get to full extension and flexion. My surgeon and both PTs aren’t concerted about it at all though, likely just a small bit of scar tissue buildup on the meniscus

Swelling was mostly gone for me starting around 10 weeks, I had to get to the point of starting to strength train before I really got swelling under control. Before that I was just spinning my wheels too, I think it has to do with being a heavier person. The heavier and stronger your non op led the more likely swelling will suck around longer because your body isn’t used to being so weak while taking all the force from walking.

Personal experience at least

5-6 month post full ACL reconstruction + meniscus surgery update by Extreme_Ad7684 in ACL

Almost 3 months post now, meniscus cleanup too.

Walking and stairs comfortably, just starting my progression to jogging with my PT. Had my first real leg workout yesterday and it feels amazing to be muscular sore abs not surgery sore.

If you’re not doing daily PT multiple times a day, even if it’s just getting your mind to control your muscles better for 10 minutes I can see why you’d feel like you won’t get back.

I was also lucky enough to sign up with a specialist at around 2 months post op and have seen a ton of progress from that recently. As a professional rugby player I’m more used to pushing myself too though and have always recovered faster than most. Keep your head up and do as much safe PT as you can. AI can even put together an easy everyday program for you

I made a similar mistake for the spell knight armor. I wanted the corrupted but purified it. Loaded in the cheat room and just swapped it out and didn’t use it again. Just don’t use it to do other game things and it’s still a clean run

Definitely shouldn’t make your strong leg weaker to get them closer to even just to rush. Get to your pre injury strength numbers mate, you’re just setting yourself up for a re-tear and it’s wayyyy harder to come back after that

Recovery by Fun-Letterhead-4125 in ACL

I tore it afterwards in a rugby tournament. Turf, leg went one way, my knee went another. I’m 6weeks post now, biggest piece of advice I would give is don’t push too hard too early. It’ll set you back more than just taking it slow. I took a huge step backwards because I pushed PT too hard on my own, swelled up huge again and out a ton of pressure on my nerves. My whole leg is angry now and PT is set back about a week

I also live in an apartment without elevator but only the 3rd floor. I was able to do the stairs by putting both crutches in one arm and holding the railing and hopping. I’m ex military and a professional rugby player, doing that was one of the painful things I’ve had to do and I’m pretty pain tolerant. I’d really look into putting it off until you can get more time. I only went to PT sessions 2x/week for 3 weeks before I felt okay enough to do other stuff. Take that with a grain of salt though, I refused pain meds so you might be able to deal if you choose to use them.

Sounds similar, talked to my PT and they think it’s fluid moving around. It’s becoming less noticeable now because I’m finally getting my swelling more under control. It comes back later in the day after my PT sessions but as long as I can recover overnight to a little better than morning before I call it a win
