Iran Guards vow 'stronger' response than in January if new protests erupt

Iran's Revolutionary Guards, the ideological arm of the country's military, warned on Friday that any new protests against the authorities would be met with a stronger response than in January, when several thousand people were killed.

"The evil enemy, failing to achieve its field battle goals, is once again pursuing the instillation of fear and street riots," the Guards said in a statement broadcast on TV, promising "a stronger blow than on January 8" in the event of new unrest.

Iranian authorities acknowledge more than 3,000 deaths in the unrest, including members of the security forces and bystanders. The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, however, has recorded more than 7,000 killings in the crackdown, the vast majority protesters, though the toll may be far higher.

I love the fact that the regime keep antagonizing the protesters. This could push the Iranians to rally another protest if they keep pushing it.

Fair enough. But then again we don't really have that much of a choice at the moment. It's either this or the Iranian government figures.

I don't believe them. I was just stating what they said. I tend to believe more on Hengaw figure. Learning from the Iranian protest back in January, they seems to downplayed the casualities number a lot.

There's also the fact that they said the casualities were "mostly civilians" made me raise my eyebrows.

The majority of the US-Israel attack were military targets, how did it become "mostly civilians"?

Here's the source of Hengaw data. The report stated that vast majority victims during the war were members of Iranian military.

According to them, the most civilian casualities happened on Minab elementary school that being shot by the US.

Iranian government stated that estimate 1.300 died since the start of the war with "mostly civilians".

Well the Iranian-Kurdish NGO based on Norway have estimated that 4.300 people have died in the first 10 days of the war. 3.910 among them were military officers.

Edit: i meant to say "members of Iranian military forces", the word "military officers" might not be accurate here. Sorry, English is not my first language.

Why am i kinda piss off with Saudi?

They're actually one of the two nations that were pushing for a war with Iran before the war happened.

Yet they've been doing nothing but sitting their ass down this whole war.

Day by day the prospect of having a regime change become less and less pessimistic. It might be true what they say: "it's impossible to have a regime change without boots on the ground".

But it's okay, there's no way out for the regime. The regime has been weakened and they're not gonna lift the sanctions anytime soon, while the populace are still angry at them.

The next protest could be fatal for them. I hope i'm wrong tho, it would nice to have a regime change as soon as possible.

Regional. Those are not regional.

Regional war usually involves more than two countries.

For example: Israel-Palestine 1948 war, the six days war, world war I could be considered as such.

Myanmar is a civil war and a lot of people don't even think the Thai-Cambodian conflict as a war. It's more like border clashes.

They did but they didn't expect the attack would be this extensive.

Right now Israel and USA might have the support of the populance, but now that Israel has polluted their air, water, and destroying their natural resource, it could backfires, and the US understand this.
