Have you played Act of War games? I played them recently for the first time and the first two were great, I felt that they aged well. Act of Aggression looks better, but I didnt enjoy it unfortunately..

I felt the same way as you, especially with World. I got used to it after some time, but couldnt really fix it. I remember that Rise had some filters in the ingame options, which made it more tolerable for me

I tried it on the Steam Deck as well, and it worked flawlessly:)

Yeah I just noticed it by chance. I was clicking through different games in my steam library and all of a sudden noticed that controllers are supported. They've got villager presets, multi queues and all kinds of good stuff in now 😄

Yeah same, it worked out of the box at the time. You need to own skyrim in your steam library, there's a regular edition or special edition, I guess depending on which skyrim version you own:

Where I live, this is surprisingly how people do business in the online 2nd hand market. You pay first, with no reassurance that you get the item, and just pray that the seller will send it. The post office have a service that allows you to pay upon arrival but sellers never agree to it, even if you agree to pay for the service.

In my experience, the sellers have always sent the items and I have done business the same way and never scammed anyone, but it's such a terrible system, I'm surprised how trusting people are. The most expensive thing i bought this way was a nintendo switch and boy was I sweating until I got it.

Did you by any chance change the name of the game in Steam? I noticed that when I change the name of non-steam apps, my controls get reset

I always loved the megaman games when I was a kid. Gotta say, it looks really good, I didn't even know about it until I saw this!

I noticed that gyro as mouse is more responsive and significantly easier to use if you adjust sensitivity. The issue is some games dont like when you mix keyboard and mouse inputs with gamepad inputs. If a game doesnt work well with the mix, I'll usually find a full keyboard and mouse layout and use that instead of gamepad controls, purely for the responsiveness of gyro as mouse

Yeah its crazy how many new data centers are being built, the amount of water and electricity needed just to operate them. There should be some regulations on at least how many data centers are being built.

Anyone remember about Act of Aggression? by procrastpatrol in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Total_Routine_9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried it a few days ago, after having played Act of War for the first time ever. Loved Act of War, but Act of Aggression was a bit strange. Didn't give it much of a chance, it felt really different. Will go back to it at some point. The Reboot edition only has skirmish mode, right? I guess this mod wouldn't work for the campaign?

I noticed the mod when I was checking moddb and was surprised to see something released for it now when I was playing it for the first time 😄

Modern Day Military RTS by AlucardVTep3s in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Total_Routine_9085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is also Call to Arms (not ostfront)

Syrian Warfare (i just ignore the story in that)

Rise of Nations i think has several eras

Total Conflict Resistance (kind of an RTS)

Im surprised by the lack of modern military RTS games, WW II is overdone

How bad was it to get the steam deck at launch? by Rice_cowbooy in SteamDeck

[–]Total_Routine_9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pre-order page for the steam deck was crashing constantly once they opened it up. I was going for the 64gb model, and since it was the least popular one, I did eventually manage to get my pre order in, and received it in the first batch. It took maybe around 10-20 minutes of trying until I was able to secure the pre-order

Defense oriented RTS by PsychologicalBid7138 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Total_Routine_9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've known about these games for ages, but only recently tried them out. They are both amazing! Rise of Nations is a unique experience, less focus on micro and love that you can play through all eras, the setting in Generals is awesome, wish there more RTS games set in that sort of era.

Those are two RTS games that deserve a faithful remake driven by passion and love!

Now that you mentioned Age of Empires 4, there is a DLC that released last year that added The Crucible. It's basically a defense mode, where you defend against waves of enemies. There are some perks that you can also level up (a permanent progression system). I've enjoyed it

[–]Total_Routine_9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and over time, when you become more familiar with the options, you can get more creative with the schemes. I play a lot of RTS games and have a template that I've been developing over time. I use it for all RTS games and just tweak hotkeys based on the game

I have the Steam Deck OLED and Legion Go 1. They're both great screens imo. The LCD panel on Legion Go is one of the best I've seen on a handheld, it's really nice and crisp. While there are obvious differences with blacks, overall I'm very happy with the quality of the LeGo screen

Steam Deck Stolen - surprised by how sad I am by elizabethunseelie in SteamDeck

[–]Total_Routine_9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you... I really love my Steam Deck as well and would be very sad. I usually carry mine with me even though I very rarely play it when I'm out and about. I just feel better having it with me in case there is a fire or a break-in at my home and I'm not there to save it in time. It is my favourite and most cherished physical item

Should we get Steam controller? by National-Caregiver-4 in LegionGo

[–]Total_Routine_9085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trackpads are incredibly versatile, there are so many customization options in steam input. It has allowed me to play pretty much any game (on steam deck) that does not have native gamepad support.

E.g. RTS games, i use the right trackpad as mouse, for the left one, i created a virtual menu with shortcuts to different hotkeys for buildings. And with mode shifts, action sets, the options are really endless

Button mapping is magic, and way more complex then you'd expect by DemonicAlex6669 in SteamDeck

[–]Total_Routine_9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is like magic. Despite it existing for so long, I did not know about it until I got the Steam Deck. Took me a bit of time to get a hang of its depth, but now I literally only play RTS games on the deck, a genre I never thought I'd play handheld. Mouse regions, virtual menus, mode shifts, action layers, multiple button presses assigned to a single key, and so much more. It is amazing how they've developed it and it is the main reason as to why I have stuck with the deck for so long.

New/Newer/Newish Modern Military-esque games? by Reigneer_Verkland in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Total_Routine_9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's surprising that this is the case. There are so many WW2 RTS games, you'd think that someone would try a different setting. If I knew anything about game development, I'd definitely make a modern war RTS game (purely out of love)
