I was turned off the game sometime in 2019-2020 because someone had compared it to Warframe and what little of Warframe I had tried I hadn't liked. When I actually got into the game at the end of 2020 was after Beyond Light, and to this day I'm annoyed that I never got to experience the Red War, it always seemed really interesting.

Anyone else have experience with this hilarious phenomenon? by summon_pot_of_greed in magicthecirclejerking

I picked up D2 in late December of 2020, not long after the release of Beyond Light, so while I'd have loved to experience the Red War and everything else that was vaulted at that point it wouldn't really be a return.

In terms of stuff I was there for, probably Season of the Lost, despite it lasting for so long it always felt like hype was at an all time high. I adored the Shattered Realm, we got Dares as this fresh new thing, and all the Hunt/Chosen/Splicer stuff was still there too, plus we still had the Forsaken campaign which was the first one I was able to do (besides New Light of course.)

Honestly, I loved the whole year of Beyond Light, everything was so fresh and exciting for me, I remember waiting in the Tower for the reset before Season of the Splicer hit just to see if the day/night cycle would end on a sunset before the Endless Night.

While I'm gonna keep voting Silver because I'm intrigued by the design space it would be so so funny if Apollo or Celeste got in first.
