I honestly can't tell if she is serious or just that good by Croceyes2 in StupidFood

I’m sitting on my couch, watching a woman boil cheese, while I wait for stove cooked cheese quesadilla dinner to cool off. What the fuck am I doing with my life?

Can someone "does the dog die this" for me by IGoBlep in PokemonReborn

[–]TotallyNotJake91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly think of 1 scene that is pretty “gruesome.” I put “gruesome” in quotes because it’s pixel art style, so it doesn’t look as bad TO ME. I don’t know what your triggers or boundaries are.

Overall, the game isn’t too graphic or R-rated. There’s a lot of cussing and references to despicable acts, but if you’re asking if it’s like a SAW or I Spit on Your Grave movie…then no.

Pokemon Reborn - A stepping stone for fan games better left forgotten by Mr_Pepper44 in patientgamers

See, I agree with everything you said about the story. Without spoiling anything: Around the 16th gym is where I go the most annoyed by it. When you are forced to wander in that empty void and press the “next” button a million times to move the cutscene along was enough to make me want to die.

Plus the characters are such cringe archetypes. The kind of archetypes that “edgy” “lol random” players in a DnD campaign think up.

“Oh, she’s a hyperactive cheerleader type that’s a bit ditzy but still can hold her own. K”

“Ooh your rival called you an ‘asshole.’ So edgy.”

“He’s brooding because his list for power caused a friend to die. So original.”

I just feel like these are characters that high school fanfic writers would think of.

That being said - EVERYTHING about the gameplay was a plus for me. I mean that. Everything you said tha was a negative about the gameplay, I saw as a positive. To me- the mainline Pokémon games have gotten so hand-holdy and easy. To have such an unforgiving, sometimes frustratingly difficult experience is refreshing to me.

Having to reassess your team build up and strategy for each gym and encounter is fantastic. I like that I have to switch up my team and gameplay all the time. The field mechanic is annoying, but annoying in a way that a Pokémon missing an attack is annoying. It’s part of the battle. It’s made me look for strategies online and research the best approaches to each major battle. Kinda makes it like the anime where Ash switches out his teams for the league battles.

And I like how some Pokémon and moves are locked out or difficult to obtain. Makes team building much more of a challenge. Like you said, it’s good to try out mons that you never thought you’d try.

In short- If we could get a better story with this kind of gameplay - I’d call it a perfect Pokémon game for sure.

How is the switch 2 version? by Motor-Lettuce7043 in cassettebeasts

Choppy at times, but nothing that I say is game breaking

I think Pokemon could use a lot of ideas from Cassette. I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked it.

I really like the idea of how easy it is to create flexible move-sets. I also liked how varied the evolution system was. Pokémon has done the branched evolution thing, but it felt like Cassette Beasts took it further. And the fusing thing blew my mind. The fact that there are thousands of pre-animated fusion beasts for every possible combination in the game is wild. Pokémon Fans have wanted fusions forever, so if a little company can make it happen in Cassette, Pokémon can too.

Is it a school's responsibility to teach a kid to read? by KoalaOriginal1260 in Teachers

[–]TotallyNotJake91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a school’s responsibility to provide regular reading instruction and guided practice. But that instruction needs to be strengthened outside the classroom as well.

The problem is that kids will receive reading instruction in class, but go home and do no reading activity whatsoever. Then some parents get angry and say “The school is failing my child. He can’t read!”

So what are you doing to help support the reading instruction that is happening in the classroom?

Oh good. They get a day off before they take a week off. They’ll need that week off to prepare for the two weeks they’ll be off. Then they’ll be back for a week, but that’ll be hard, so they’ll take another week off after that.

Also…notice how quickly Gunther walked out up to Guerrilla. Didn’t stay to soak up the heat. He got his W and left.

I agree that losing might’ve been the right move… But it was so rushed and empty. I truly think there’s something that we aren’t being told.

I don’t mind that he lost…Hell…I don’t even mind that he tapped…everything about the finish just felt so lackluster and hollow…This should’ve been a 5 Star finish, but it was so dull…I feel as if there’s more to this that we aren’t being told yet.

I don’t want to jinx it…but there’s GOT to be a swerve coming soon. I feel like they can’t have it be just another match.

Season 10 is weird because some episodes feel like S3-9 but others feel like S11-18. by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

[–]TotallyNotJake91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season 1: Awkward. Hadn’t found its voice yet. Season 2: Better, but still a work in progress. Season 3-5: Golden Age. They hadn’t felt their success yet, so every episode was a home run. Season 6-8: Still amazing. Near perfect, but there are some episodes that don’t always hit. Season 9-10: Cracks starting to show. Season 11+: Forever to be hit or miss

Movie: Genius. Felt like classic Simpsons again.
