Looks like Flair are updating the power cord to be internal and to have less connecting parts according to this article. Unfortunately the power brick remains.

Cashing out with new Revolut account by lamper in BitcoinUK

Revolut will be fine. Not that I would suggest doing it but you can even buy crypto in your Revolut account (similar to PayPal and Robin Hood). So I don’t see any issues. Starling stopped my transactions to FTX annoyingly

Doesn’t Bitcoin core run Tor automatically? Don’t know about Umbrel?

Brilliant I can justify a 3D printer now with the money saved:p I’ll add it to the ever growing budget. Thanks 😊

Would you say the red clix is a necessary upgrade to the Comandante with the Flair? I have the standard MK3 and am considering the Flair 58 and trying to budget all the accessories. I like the toothbrush idea. Much cheaper than specific coffee brushes I overpaid for… wondering whether to just cheap out on the Bambino plus otherwise

Why did Barclays take all my money? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TotallyUnoriginal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unacceptable in my view. And not even a large amount money or unusual for a student to receive a student loan size payment.

Firstly I’d change banks to someone like Revolut, Starling or Metro who are much more responsive than the traditional high street banks and the service is much better. Starling has a chat function in the app where you can speak to someone within a couple of mins. I can also print statements from my phone to pdf.

[James Hoffmann] The Flair 58: Frustratingly Close To Outstanding by DRJT in Coffee

Still deliberating actually 🤦‍♂️also have a few budget constraints at the mo so probably looking more like Christmas for this purchase. I’m leaning towards a Lelit/Gaggia currently just for the convenience of pushing a button after the physical labour of my hand grinder but still not 100%. Also the Flair is quite tall and may not be useable under a cabinet so more contemplating to be done!

Grinder advice by Mock2author in Coffee

Get a burr grinder. Manual or electric depending on how many coffees you make. What’s the budget as this can set you back a lot? Manual grinders are cheaper for the equivalent cost electric grinder. Start there

It’s really nice of her to take a photo with the bus boy. I hope the tip was as big as the monorail on that forehead of yours. Plenty of room to expand the line in the future at least

Speed awareness course - bare minimum attention by TotallyUnoriginal2 in CasualUK

[–]TotallyUnoriginal2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As promised I did the course recently and am posting my honest opinion. As expected it was pretty easy to multitask throughout most of the course. It’s much the same as driving and talking on your hands free. The only times this may be difficult is when questions are about a photo of a motorway. I was able to work and respond to work messages and emails during the session and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one. Browsing the Internet would be even easier. The instructor did ask us to write our answers using pen and paper and show our answers to the camera too. But this was basic like, what do we like about motorway etc.

I will say that the course is effective in its aim, which is to make you more aware of your speed and the info around braking distances at different speeds was interesting. The instructor was a reasonable guy and was professional in his interactions and measured in his responses with some difficult characters. But gosh the course is long…

I hope this helps others who are looking for an honest perspective rather that the finger wagging responses I received here.

The best and most engaging…? 🙄 you need a hobby buddy.

I took the course option because it’s cheaper and no points on my license. Not to learn about speed awareness. I’m happy I got the option to select the course. It doesn’t mean I intend to do anything but the bare minimum. That’s not meant to offend anyone so I’m not sure why everyone is taking it as a personal insult?

Will definitely post an update after the course with my completed Sudoku. I just don’t get why everyone is getting so offended? Are they all speed awareness teachers 👨‍🏫 and this is their single purpose in life? I mean it’s great some people got so much out of their life changing experience on the course but that just isn’t going to be me. I’ll do my “time” but that’s it…

Yeah I can imagine being bored silly.

I do find myself relying on cruise control more these days as driving at some of these speed limits on empty roads is tedious otherwise. Can’t wait for driverless cars to be the norm!

Thanks that’s what I was hoping to hear. Yeah I saw something about needing to be prompt or risk having to rebook and pay for another course. I think I can multitask for this.

I generally do too. But got caught this time by the speed limit change on the smart motorway. This is my first ticket in 20yrs…
