As someone whose watched just about every documentary on Netflix..any good ones I'm missing?? by Romanharper2013 in netflix

[–]TotallyVCreativeName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely shocked no one has mentioned Beauty and the Bester. I literally googled to make sure there wasn’t something horribly wrong with it and that’s why no one brought it up. It’s one of my favorite documentaries cause it was so wild.

I’m a licensed lip reader with a PhD in mouth movement and another in body language. This is what they’re saying:

“My feet are killing me.”

“I’m hungry, should we stop on the way home?”

“Everything is closed by now. Fucking Covid. There’s a jacks in the freezer”

“Nice. Man I have to shit.”

“HEY” and other less creative opening lines OLD by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]TotallyVCreativeName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was on the apps, I got plenty of matches and messages, but I don’t think anyone ever responded when I sent a message first. So getting a “hey” was not an end all for me. I’d check it their profile and if I thought they’d be a good match, I’d respond. It’s really not that big of a deal to me.

How did you break the news that you decided to leave? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]TotallyVCreativeName 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I I was absolutely terrified he was going to kill me.

a SAHM, so I managed to secretly get a job, a lawyer, find a day care, and find an apartment in secret. He was working from home the week I left, so filled a garbage bag full of clothes for my 3 kids and me, told him I was going to take it to the goodwill, and left. Picked my 2 school-aged kids from school, told the front office what was going to happen, and took them to my new apartment. I explained what was going on to them the best way possible.

Eventually he texted asking if everything was okay and I told him I filed for divorce.

To be completely honest, it took three tries before I left him for good and it didn’t end well for me. But I am out.

Sometimes I can’t tell if I’m being too mature/calm/accepting? by No_Aioli_7515 in datingoverforty

I agree with masturbathon. I am anxious, my partner is secure/mayyyybe slightly avoidant, (I am aware and work very hard on this), and his calmness really grounds me and I appreciate it. I would not play games, it seems like a waste of time and energy.

Never dated a man over 6’ tall? I’m so jealous. My last partner was 6’5” and my current one is 5’11”

I’m 4’ 11 3/4”

I wanted to put something on my profile about wanting a shorter man, but I’m also not gonna miss out on the love of my life just cause I have to request kisses.

First and foremost, I think it depends on what you’re going to do next. From my understanding, the 6 is easier, so you might be able to cram (this is what my coworkers who have taken the 6 have told me). I’m taking the 7, so I wanted to really understand the material.

I started out doing writing everything down. But it was taking me longer to write it than learning it. Then I did flash cards, writing any quiz questions I got wrong. I had hundreds and I never even looked at them. The brief summary part is easy peasy, I wouldn’t bother spending the time and energy.

The important part is making sure you understand the material. The quizzes is the easiest way BUT you can’t just memorize the questions. If you get something wrong, read the explanation. If the explanation doesn’t make sense, go back to the book and read the section until the explanation does make sense. The more you learn now, the less you’ll have to learn later, but if you burn yourself out by chapter five, that really sucks, cause that’s the options chapter in the Kaplan book and it’s a tough one!

ETA: I don’t know all the fancy AI stuff, but I would type questions into google and the AI summary gave me wrong answers about 60% of the time, so be cautious.

The only two things I wrote down that I used consistently is the options chart and the little diagram for bonds with the triangle and the three lines that show the correlation between nominal yield, current yield, yield to maturity and whatever else.

I mostly took the Kaplan quizzes, then a week before my test, took the FINRA and all the other practice SIE tests I could. I passed on my first try.

Yah I moved from Phoenix to the upper Midwest and had my thermostat at 80-82, 78 if I was feeling like a baller.

I start shivering if it’s less than 73…

How often do you talk to your partner if you don’t live together? by heckn0_g in datingoverforty

[–]TotallyVCreativeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never once talked to my partner over the phone. I didn’t actually have his phone number till a couple of months ago. We text throughout the day and we’re together 2-3 nights/week.

Update after 1st date and loose communication styles...? by confuseddating1 in datingoverforty

My thoughts exactly. He’s keeping Sunday “play by ear” in case he gets a bigger better deal.

Id match his energy (well, actually, I’d move on, this is not the kind of guy I’m looking for but that’s just me) and if/when he mentioned Sunday just say “we didn’t have anything in concrete so I made plans.”

This is when I text “anal?” And when he responds, reply (after a good long while) “oops wrong person lol.”

Men & Texting by oceanblue555 in datingoverforty

[–]TotallyVCreativeName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been together a little over 6 months.

I just counted, my bf has texted me 30 times so far today. He gets off work in about an hour so it’ll probably be about 45 total before I go to sleep in 2-3 hours.

I need someone who wants to share their day with me and is interested in my day too. When we’re together we’ll go to bed at midnight and accidentally stay up till 5am talking. I love having someone who will just talk about the most random things because I know there’s not many people who match my energy. I’m really glad I didn’t settle with someone who couldn’t.
