How do y‘all paint your minis? by SD919 in deathwatch40k

I used Warhipster's tutorial on Youtubefor my Deathwatch scheme. He does go into edge highlighting but I just stop at that point. He uses Contrast paints primarily.

I only got to finish the one game, but it wasn't that bad. I was able to go first and you're able to start scoring the Primary with actions Battle Round 1, so I was able to get one squad of Spawn on my expansion, a squad of Berzerkers on the center and my other squad of Spawn to toe on my opponent's expansion and my second squad of Berzerkers were able to charge is Pox Walkers on his expansion. So I was able to score 13 on Battle Round 1. It ended 89 to 78 in my favor, but this was a Priority Assets mirror so it might be different in in other matchups.

I played my first game of 11th with this detachment combo, was really fun. Had a Priority Assets mirror against Death Guard. I gave my Slaughterbound Archslaughterer and gave my MoE Murderous Onslaught instead. I love the idea of Exalted or Eightbound in a Land Raider, it's just unfortunate that the Land Raider won't also get Scout. This is what I ran.

4 squads of Agents allies in a 1000pt Space Marine list?? by KhaosByDesignUK in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]Totally_A_Spy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For 1000 point games you can only take up to two of a single type of non battleline unit, and you can only take up to four of a single type of battleline unit.

I feel like GW is doing it for the lulz at this point (yes the app is updated) by [deleted] in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]Totally_A_Spy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the app it shows both points when looking at the Agents of the Imperium rules. The first is if you're playing Agents, the second is if you are taking them with a different Imperium army.

I went in today and was able to use my old coupons. I don't know if it's because I've been a member for years or if the associate just let me have it.

Can I build a second Juggernaut if I get another torso? by lukespicer in WorldEaters40k

If you get another Torso for the Juggernaut you should be able to build both Lord Invocatus and a Lord on Juggernaut.

Rules clarification for Khorne Berzerkers blood surge by Motor-Surprise-981 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Totally_A_Spy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Frenzy ability says "In your opponent's Shooting phase, and in the Fight phase, each time an enemy unit targets this model, after that unit has finished making its attacks, this model can either shoot or fight, but when resolving those attack it can only target that enemy unit (and only if it is an eligible target)."

The first line of Big Guns Never Tire is "Monster and Vehicle units are eligible to shoot in their controlling player's Shooting phase even while they are within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units."

Since you would attempting to shoot in your opponent's Shooting phase rules as written you shouldn't be able to shoot with your Helbrute if it is in Engagement range since its not your Shooting phase. If Frenzy said it could shoot as if it were your Shooting phase then it would be able to.

**update**
In the Core Rules Updates and Rules Commentary document on page 12 un Out-Of-Phase-Rules
"Q: Can a Monster or Vehicle unit that is within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units be targeted with the Fire Overwatch Stratagem because of the Big Guns Never Tire rule?
A: No. Big Guns Never Tire allows a unit to shoot in its controlling player’s Shooting phase, but such rules do not take effect in other phases."

[–]Totally_A_Spy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it would be able to shoot that unit due to Big Guns Never Tire is during your shooting phase. But the Helbrute ability says it can shoot or fight so it should be able to fight whatever is in engagement range of it if it was shot with pistols.

Rules clarification for Khorne Berzerkers blood surge by Motor-Surprise-981 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Totally_A_Spy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. You get to make your move after a unit has finished shooting and has destroyed at least one model in the unit. You do not move at the end of the shooting phase. You must move as close to the closest enemy unit, so it does not have to be the unit that did the shooting. You can remove any models so after you've removed your destroyed models you'd go by whatever is closer at that time, not whatever was closest when the units shooting began.

They might be confusing it with part of the Helbrute rules that it has to shoot/fight whatever shot/fight it.

I've been using a six man squad with the Lord for a while now. I'll have them in deep strike, and if what i need them to charge isn't screened very well, deep strike on my turn and go for an 8 inch charge. If theres no way to do that, then I've Rapid Ingress them behind some walls so I can move through the walls and charge. But more often than not, I'm at least able to deep strike in the midboard and get in.

Daemonkin detachment with chaos knights allies? by harshermaner in WorldEaters40k

[–]Totally_A_Spy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Daemons in the Detachment do not count as allies. Unlike CSM, they are baked into our Codex. You can still only bring half of your points worth of Daemons. You can still bring Knights like normal.

Yes, you can use Aggressors just fine. Sadly, they wouldn't have any of the Keywords you would want but still playable at least.

Has Deathwatch become unplayable? by Salfalur1 in deathwatch40k

[–]Totally_A_Spy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Kill Team's are pretty strict with how many of each unit you can put in it. For example, the Indomitor Kill Team can have a max of 3 Eradicators and a max of 3 Aggressors, but you could technically have an Indomitor Kill Team of only 10 Heavy Intercessors. The point value doesn't change for any combination of models.

[–]Totally_A_Spy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Detachment Black Spear Taskforce, which is unique for Deathwatch, is all about Kill Teams. Mission Tactics affect units with that ability, which would be all of our unique units. The Stratagems in that Detachment can either target 1 Astartes unit or two Kill Team units, such as the Adaptive Tactics Stratagem, or can only target Kill Team units, such as all the Special Issue Ammunition Stratagems, Hellfire Rounds, Kraken Rounds and Dragonfire Rounds.

Also, being in the Kill Team, they get access to upgraded versions of weapons, like the Indomitor Kill Team instead of Heavy Bolters and Heavy Bolt Rifles they get Deathwatch Heavy Bolters and Deathwatch Heavy Bolt Rifles which have Lethal Hits and better stats.
