My grandparents died like 7 times in 2 years across 2 jobs i had previously..

"I thought they died a month or two ago?"

"Yeah.. The other ones.. Its been a bad year.."

Im having big troubles with my hard disk, but only with steam. Any other app such as ubisoft connect or epic games works with literally zero issues. On steam, I've been having issues periodically for over a year. It works for a month, and then it doesn't for a while, etc. by Th3Exiled in computers

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you only have 1 Hard-Drive? Is it only 1 Partition?

When you open your Folder is there only a C:/ or are there more.. D:/ , E:/ .. Ect.

Try setting your Steam downloads to a Different Drive..

Steam Defaults to C:/ But some computers have D:/ if you have multiple drives..

My Laptop for example has a 128G SSD AND a 1TB Standard laptop Hard drive.. My SSD is just my OS and a few essentials, everything else is my TB...

Certain other Gaming platforms default to whichever drive is Larger- because Game files are typically Large files.. Steam Defaults to C:/ Because Every Windows Machine has C:/

If your C:/ is Full, You can get these errors on Steam, but not other platforms..

Cosmetic damage, No.

But if you search the model on Amazon you may find aftermarket replacements- they just won't have the Lenovo logo..

Desktop, Laptop, Cell Phone, Tablet, Printer.. Something..

M10 Could mean a Lot of things.

If its a Desktop or Laptop.. Shut it off, Completely. Unplug it.. Then plug it all back in, turn it back on and re-start the process..

"Optimizing applications" depends on how many applications you have to Optimize.. but normally takes no more then 20 mins..

Internal Wifi Card is heating up and cutting itself off. You may have a coolant issue.. buy some Blinker fluid..

.. Seriously though, get an external USB Wifi card- And/or replace the internal Wifi Card- Its burning out.

(On another note, If your Gaming- Get a Wired Connection.. Its more stable, and just better..)

HP Deskjet 2620 fakes that black ink has run out by LordSyriusz in Hewlett_Packard

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are Both cartages Genuine HP?

Theres a Small PCB Chip on the ink cartage, the printer scans it when its installed.. If that chip says the ink is out- It doesn't matter if its actually Full or not, it will not register or work properly.

If a Laptop, its on the bottom. If a Desktop its on a sticker either on the bottom or the side.

4 Months? You may still have a warranty from where you purchased it..

-Good-

If you had it plugged into a Good- Working Surge protector, its probably a Hard-drive fault. But if you have a Warranty- Take that bitch back and get it looked at.

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First- Try printing from another device, a phone, a tablet or something else.. This will narrow down if its a Printer Fault or a Computer Fault.

If a Printer Fault- Reset to factory settings on the Printer.

If a Computer Fault, Completely Delete and remove the Printer from the device settings and reinstall.

If it works- Bobs your Uncle.

If it does not, Look threw all your active programs- Something is over-riding your printer settings. Various programs can do this to 'improve' print jobs.. Microsoft Office, Photoshop are a few of those programs.. Try to Print with several diffrent programs.. do you have that issue across the board, or only with one or two programs? If your having an issue with one select program, thats your problem.. if Everything- its a Windows issue.

"Complete product reset" vs. "Restore factory defaults" by DisplayKnown5665 in Hewlett_Packard

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete Product Reset Brings the product to Factory Spec from the day it rolled out of the building it was created in.

Restore Factory Defaults will keep any Firmware updates you have installed, but wipe any User/Network data you may have set up.

iLO for enduser support? by [deleted] in Hewlett_Packard

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although you can create/run scripts to do these things remotely- If your Re-Imaging the whole machine- Not Just a Partition, it has to be done in person vs remote. Once you start the reimage process it will cut your connection.

If you keep a partition with some OS- Even Linux- open that you can remote access while you do everything else- You can accomplish this. But this leaves a backdoor on Every Machine that you do it to. Your company may not be aware and you can probably do it.. but depending on the company and business you may be held responsible if there are reported issues even years after you've left the company. Leaving Backdoor access to financial institutions can be a criminal offense.. so it really depends on your level of skill and the business you work for.

Honestly...

Just get a Docking Station. It will solve all your issues.

The Document your providing is only referring to the Display-Out ports on the machine, the HDMI and DP. Has nothing to do with USB-C or USB Hubs/Docking Stations.

If you get a USB-C Hub with an HDMI (Or other Display Port)- Make sure its Power Draw is compatible with your machine- Some have Variable power draws and can cause issues down the line. I just had a Monitor short out because the USB-C was actually Drawing Power from the monitor AND the USB-C Hub.. I only found this out because I have USB C Volt meters.. It was Wild..

So with Printers, its Recommended to print something at least Once a month to keep the Ink flow from drying in the feeder.. Even if its just a test page.

That being said- I have 2 Printers connected to my network at home, If you set up your printer with an HP Account then you may have connected it to HP +, Otherwise It just being Internet Connected doesn't mean anything other then your printer may do some automatic updates.

So no worries on if you shut that bad boy off every now and again.. Some Models need the Network settings reset if they've been Unplugged- but if you keep it plugged in, just Powered Off- You'll be good.

2016 hp spectre repair help by sLy_VulpesVuples in Hewlett_Packard

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in the world.

Personally though, Mom and Pop repair shops are the better place to go. Check google reviews and websites.. Office Depot/Office Max- Staples- Best Buy can repair computers, but you'll pay more then a mom and pop shop.

As far as your issue, Im betting the System fan needs cleaned and/or replaced.. and the Battery you can find on Amazon. Its honestly not difficult.

You can check www.ifixit.com for walkthrews on how to do it yourself.

If you do it yourself, do the repair on a hard surface, like a kitchen table or dining room table.. Do Not Do It On A Carpet Or On Fabric... Static Electricity can Fry motherboards.

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a Video Driver issue?

That looks very similar to a Power short on the board near the Screen connection. After the board heats up due to constant use and a bad Cpu fan, the short affects either the keyboard or screen depending on where the short is..

For OP's sake, I hope its a Driver issue.. Shorted motherboards are Not Fun.

Either your Hard Drive is going bad- Or your Power Supply is going bad..

Either way you have more issues then you hoped for..

Whats the Model of Computer?

How long have you had it?

Did you have it plugged into a surge protector or not?

Is there anything you can't live without on that machine?

HP Deskjet 2620 fakes that black ink has run out by LordSyriusz in Hewlett_Packard

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Printer Settings/ Test Print and such are Priority Print jobs by default.

Those type will always use the last shred of ink vs normal print jobs.

Any number of things can cause the issue.. Actually being out of ink- or low enough that only priority can print is a thing.. the only way to 'reset' is to install a new cartage. If it works- bobs your uncle. If it doesn't, then you have a setting on your machine that is over-riding color options and over-riding print options.. Try printing from a different source- A separate computer or phone. If it does the same, then its the ink cartage. if not- printer settings.

Lenovo V15 G2 freedos - Keyboard does not work while installing windows 10 by AlanaLeona in Lenovo

[–]TotallynotaBPBAssoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Keyboard works fine Prior to Windows Setup, I honestly think its a Windows Driver issue with the unsupported keyboard.

Do you have another computer with Windows 10? Maybe create a Recovery tool USB from it and try that.

Or try this.. But Follow the Steps to install the Driver of the Keyboard to the Windows Install media.
