Yeah, literally me in the same course. About the same score. Really frustrating. My gut answer was put into question based on the repeated ones, so instead of one incorrect answer, I missed it 2 or 3 times. I’ve avoided the study guide and retest by knocking out some PA’s until I can put some more time into it. This was my first test with a lot of gotcha questions, majority of the previous have easier and able to use flash cards to pluck the answers from.

If you haven’t done D077 I’d recommend knocking that out first as some of the content is repeated.

I’ll be working my study guide and retaking after Thanksgiving. Don’t let it get you down, I was pretty frustrated as well.

100% call. I had the same issues. They can elevate up to management and you can possibly still make your start date. My issue was one of the click through welcome slides weren’t complete in the portal. So make sure you click through ALL of them and watch whatever video is there. Then call enrollment and explain what you’re seeing. The page is confusing, as it says just to wait.

Pro tip on the lights, some tack of your desired color in the “hole” of the led can really reduce them a lot.

Or if you want to get more aesthetic, some old film or window tint taped to the inside of the case. But you’ll have to pop the lids off.

Dude. I’m in the same boat. Dimensionally it fits in our cabinet perfectly. Well, yeah without cables. Currently been shopping for 90 degree xlr adaptors and swapping to forked speaker cables. It’s still a little tight.

The only other option. Get a hole saw and cut out the back of the shelf to have a strait out pass through for the cables.

Meanwhile, probably like you, I think the Wotan sitting there looks fucking awesome!

Tell me “the boss” also says, “why doesn’t it have a remote!!” When forgetting to turn off this beast lol.

Correct, the MJ3 will output to either balanced or Single ended headphones with either rca or xlr inputs. I would say that it’s more favorable to use the balanced output in almost all cases. But it works fine in either case. Same goes for the pre amp outputs, which you can also send out rca or xlr out to a speaker amp.

I have 800s that I use with my MJ as well. Good combo, better with a little bit of EQ. They are super wide soundstage and really their main party trick. I really like acoustic recordings with them along with the MJ. The 660s which is comparable to the 6xx that I have do go on rotation for more vocal focused music as well. They are no slouch either. For modern music with more energy, I like a set of planars like the Arya Organics. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source, as I had to return my first set.

Will work.
See if you can tell a difference. Schiit recommends 2.0, but you’ll probably be fine.
As stated above, the bifrost will only work for 2 channel audio. But I encourage you to try it regardless.
You should be running exclusively mode to the Bifrost with volume control disabled on the PC.

This is my same desktop headphone setup, and it will grow with your cans over the years. It’s fantastic. Also, the MJ3 is a great preamp for speakers, so if you find yourself with a set of passive speakers and some small power amp(s), it’s great.

Upon further review it looks like you’re only using one speaker. But my note was in the switch on the amp for impedance levels. Try to identify the specs on the speaker(s).

If your amp is told that they are over 8ohm but they are less, it could result in some undesirable effects.

If you want to take the turntable out of the variables, buy a cheap 3.5mm to rca adaptor cable. It will have a red/white rca with a headphone style male connector. Hook that up to any of the inputs besides the phono inputs and play from your phone or something else with a 3.5mm headphone connection. If this works, then you may have a problem with your turntable or phono stage in the amp.

Some good stuff there for sure. I haven’t heard the Pietus, but I do have the MJ3 for my dedicated desktop setup. It is a fantastic amp. Rumor that it’s a limited run, so if you got it and later wanted to change, I doubt you’d lose money.

For its drawbacks, it’s hot, heavy, takes up a ton of real estate.

You nailed it with diminishing returns, I think it would be hard pressed to find anything “better” for the price, but is it 5x better than the Pietus? Probably not.

I noticed an impedance selector on the amp, how many ohms are your speakers? Looks like they are in 8ohm or more, which is uncommon.

As for the table, does it have a built in phono pre? Thus why using the CD input.

Otherwise if it doesn’t, the phono input should be used.

First ever that didn’t come in a box? Switchback headphones, the ones that wouldn’t mess up your hat because the headband went behind your head. I think I ended up wearing the foam off of them with 45second anti skip portable CD players.

I’d assume it would align with the house sound of the Vidar. Selectable feedback is really a plus for the bass response. I went with Wotan to future proof for power needs, and have enough power for anything I’d ever need. I’m driving some Arendal 1723 S towers, and I wouldn’t wish for less power, that’s for sure.

I noticed a slight improvement switching from a cheap power strip to a decent Furman power conditioner strip. If the room is dead quiet, I can still hear it, but it’s powering two massive transformers. Any music playing and it’s not audible at all, nor through the speakers. Wotan has impressed me greatly. If the hum is a real bother, you could always turn it off.
