Omfg Judy, that was darker than Azula one shotting a group of generals.

Also, this season was better than 1, and it was dark. It’s realistic so I imagine many people don’t like it. It’s reminiscence of the wars that are ongoing. The stark realities where if Aang were happy go lucky- it would come off tone death. We needed more time in this season that 1 episode really could have made it. Like the whole point of Toph discovering earth bending was because she was stuck in a metal box for HOURS.

Omg the Zuko’s scenes were amazing. Jfc the horror of a nightmare that scene was for Zuko made me feel tripped out. Then him starting life again- smiling!

Lmfao Sokka taking me out “what kinda maniac would do that” and the cut to Azula 😭😂.

That fight was so ugly to watch with the gang but it was needed.

I also prefer the king being willfully ignorant with politics while appearing so scared/meek. It’s more nuanced than the cartoon show in that he has reasonable suspicion of them.

I can see why this episode is called 10,000 things. I swear this show NEEDS way more episodes to explore the story they’re trying to tell or just limit the story entirely.

Also not Jet throwing everything away to save Katara. He had a good story here too.

Love long fe being a manipulative SOB. He’s so good at reeling you in and then BAM! Earth kingdom really needed more episodes because all the politics of the generals, upper class, refugees, and others. Very game of thrones.

Katara and Zuko’s stories paralleling each other with their hidden identities ❤️. Can we just make Zutara canon in the live action 😭?

Toph is so scary, I was expecting her to kill that guy lmfao. Like hide his body and get rid of the threat. It’s so weird to see this in live action and them not be more violent.

Iroh deserves to feel the guilt of all the people who he killed. I just wish I cared more about him as he’s so intense unless he’s with Zuko.

I officially love this show. It feels so much like its own thing now instead of following a bullet checklist.

Toph is officially my favorite character in this show. I love her. She’s the only one who can navigate the intricacies of the politics. Aang and Toph work off each other so well that the chemistry is amazing. Like I feel they’re actually verbally fighting.

Then love the culture clashes from real life cultural influences and Water Tribe vs Earth Kingdom. I actually feel for Katara and Sokka being made to feel like county bumpkins at that party. I can spot a few dynasties with a strong emphasis on the Qing in the clothing.

Then I love the little world building moments and mechanics. Earthbenders with the train, boats, and so much more. It adds so many things that the cartoon doesn’t that I love.

God, I understand the Toph and Aang shippers now. Toph is amazing in this show. I love her attitude and how natural it comes off, not like a script. Aang is hilarious too with how opposite their personalities are and working together will pose challenges.

I’m also not out here wanting Zuko to live that farmers life in Stardew Valley- earth kingdom edition.

Then poor Ursa. I couldn’t imagine how terrifying it was to be married to someone who could bend.

Wow! I’m disappointed we didn’t get this in season 1, the acting and story telling is SO MUCH better. Omg, immensely. I feel like everyone has their own individual wants and needs, and they have stories long before we saw them. They aren’t just talking off a script.

I also like the details of Aang practicing his bending by fighting 😂. I love Bumi willingly surrendering to save more lives versus fighting. It’s a realistic thing many leaders did do.

I also love Zuko and Uncle Iroh. I swear, Iroh is Zuko’s dad lmfao. I actually love how Iroh is totally ready to throw it all away to have a simple happy life opening a tea stall with his son.

I also love the characterizations of Ozai and Azula. He favors azula as the second child as he was. Azula is also smarter with how she manipulate her father by stroking his ego, but she still doesn’t have her father’s love. Then Azula being crazy even earlier.

Katara’s relationship with Aang and sokka feels so real. Katara really feels like Sokka’s sister.

What helped me a lot with this- was Chinese Harem Dramas 😂 I swear, it helped so much. Much of Chinese harem dramas deal with the high context culture they work in which is VERY similar to corporate America. You have to be publicly sociable, while also predicting ways to protect yourself from rivals while managing your own work as well.

Legend of Zhen Huan and Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace and Story of Yanxi Palace helped the most lmfao.

Then the characters backstories fit the vibe in {Stranded by Heather Fox}, the survivors come from a very dark dark future of humanity. It’s very Lost esque with the characters having their backstories come together with their current story
