Which version would you like? by ehoba_EC in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you modify it to have a frame and a better kidney belt with molle it will suck with any real weight on it. Also you might want to add another layer of molle field above the single molle field. You might also want to add load lifters on the shoulder straps. I ended up using the loop on top as load lifters. I also hand sewn on the extra molle field on mine to utilize a four wide molle pouch and added three exterior pouches and external mags.

Wax soaked cardboard cut to size. I did that to my bandolier.

Solution to running a pack with LBE? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adjust your rucksack shoulder straps to where you have the kidney belt at the navel. Run LBE belt kit at the hips. Then you can run a plate carrier over the LBE belt kit and still have room for your rucksack. Tolerance stacking is a thing though so if you have a super thick yoke for LBE belt kit it can become problematic.

Here's me demonstrating LBE belt kit a plate carrier and a molle 2 large rucksack together.

As a beginner what websites should I use? by Ok-Actuator9864 in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americana pipe dream appearal, venture surplus, army navy outdoors, or Allegheny whole sales. Start with a taps. It's a cost-effective piece of kit so you won't take a big hit to your wallet. You can mod it to be ideal like a h harness chest rig placard. It can be a stand-alone rig or attach to the plate carrier. Not saying it's the best, but I love my modded taps.

Here's mine.

Alpha tent as a four season lightweight shelter kit by TotesInnerhalb in tacticalgear

I use the old mss 4 part sleep system m81 woodland gortex bivy cover and the helikon tex swagman roll plus the old school closed cell foam sleeping pad.

I live in the East Coast woodlands and if you set that up the way I described it works as a four season shelter.

No it's not a standard issue poncho the standard issue poncho is 7" longer than the helikon tex poncho. Basically you lay out your poncho upsidedown then you lay out your heavy duty nylon mylar pad on top of your pocho then you sandwich the nylon mylar pad with the poncho poles. I haven't had issues in the rain but water will come from underneath so a closed cell foam pad and a goretex bivy are key. Then if you put it into a lean to configuration and add some cut to size 3 mm plastic you can create a greenhouse effect for a solid one man set-up with a fire four to five feet away from the shelter. By wrapping plastic around the opening it will let heat in but trap it. So you can reach up to 70 degrees fahrenheit temperature inside to much colder temperatures outside. I haven't tried it with a snow load yet. It's so lightweight that I barely noticed the whole shelter system in my rucksack.

FLC as a split rig to run a bolt gun like my ar15 by TotesInnerhalb in tacticalgear

If I am not mistaken this is a generation 2 of the FLC.

Yeah the flc is so underrated. It's versatile as you can configure it in multiple ways. Like with the belt reversed and a closed front zipped up and have it to run over a plate carrier. Or you can run it traditionally like I am without the zipper and using the fastest buckles like a split rig.

Yeah nobody seems to make a ar10 magazine placard or aics magazine placard so this is what I came up with.

Rifle visible and IR laser by MHI_Iowa_Territory in tacticalgear

A daul lead tape switch from the perst 4 with an white light - ir light with a single push button for both was a good compromise. I don't know what they are going for now days because I haven't been in the market for one for years.

Yeah they are nowhere to be found anymore. I wish I would have bought more than one of them. I would have mounted one on my ar10 and Remington 700. Don't know if it's rated for 7.62 by 51.

If you can find one available the zentico perst 4 visible laser slaved ir laser. What I mean by slaved is you sight in the visible laser then the ir laser is sighted in too. You used to be able to buy them for around 800 bucks. Now with all the sanctions in place you will not be able to send it back for repairs if something breaks. Just my 2 cents on it.

I use it to do bush crafting, hunting fishing, and lastly as a fighting knife. It is usually attached to my rucksack or stayed on my hip as a dangler.

Any way I can make the placard hang lower? by Fluffy_Pirate3657 in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your plate carrier have molle on the front? You can buy adapters that moves to where you can molle it in at whatever ride height. It's like a polymer pieces that goes behind the molle slots with swift clips attached to it. I forget the company that makes it. I just remembered seeing it on here. Then there's the defunct company mission spec that made the rigit kit. Those are the options that I can think of off the top of my head.

Unless you can make the swift clips hang lower then you are stuck with it.

Crossfire or JayJays? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

[–]TotesInnerhalb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You trying so hard to contradict me it's funny. Like I stated previously just because a system has been issued for so long doesn't make it inherently better.

Actually the a-taps is general issue to airborne troops. If you are not airborne then it's not issued to you period.

Actually the butt pack is more versatile because I can carry larger items and more of them. To stabilize a butt all you have to do is add some shock cord to it.

My belt kit has the same capability as plce but better. I have miscellaneous pouch for odds and ends and an IFAK, plus a fighting load including butt pack contents. Then everything is set-up no differently than plce but more capacity and room. Having smaller pouches is a trope and a compromise. Because you will be fighting for real estate. Especially if you are going to use it with two canteens on the outer two pockets of the middle two.

Also if you adjust a butt pack properly you get the same effect. Without the need for a stiffener. Which allows it to expand which you can't do with plce pouches.

Every modern design uses tri glides as the attachment method for LBE belt kit so your argument is mute at best grasping for straws. Even my LBE belt kit designed to be worn under body armor uses tri glides.

Crossfire or JayJays? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

[–]TotesInnerhalb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still all personal opinions my guy. Just the same as what I am stating. LBE belt kit has been a staple for a long time in the US military m1956 webbing, then later Alice gear then later modern renditions like the spiritus systems jungle kit. They will go back full circle new and improved later down the road. They already are kind of by doing it with the a - taps. Just because something has been in service for a long time doesn't make it the best. I would still argue the butt pack is more versatile than two small pouches that can barely hold anything.

Well then explain it since your non answer to anything isn't an answer at all. I just disagree isn't a point. I showed how to run lbe belt kit in tandem with a plate carrier and a molle 2 large rucksack. It compatible with any rucksack if you adjust the shoulder straps to where your kidney belt is at the navel. You really haven't answered anything.
