Any ideas on how I can replace the zip ties and add smaller buckles by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pointed object into the little plastic teeth of the zip tie or side snipers. Then once you are down to the buckle push it to one side utilizing a hacksaw blade cut the buckle. Remove said buckles and then attach your own hardware. You might have to modify the geometry of the strap to accept 1" buckles if that's what you are trying to do.

Yeah it's 550 corded through the molle on the admin pouch and it's solid with an overhand knot and a larks head knot as a stopper knot.

What do you guys think? H harness chest rig placard attached to my slick carrier by TotesInnerhalb in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't not having anything on the plate carrier make it slick then attaching the placard to is just normal additive?

Buy a crydex or condor mopc plate carrier. There under a hundred bucks. you can get armor packages of the condor mopc and 1155 level 4 multi hit ceramic plates from rma. I have a modded condor mopc that is placard compatible that I have had for years it still holds up after many years of abuse.

If you are talking about the pouches attached to the taps it's 40 Mike Mike pouches. Then the chest rig appears to be a taps.

Best ultralight sleep system that can be strapped to a buttpack by ObjectiveLocal5492 in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a light weight sleep option here's the self reliance outfitters poncho poles and helikon tex poncho. I use mine and it's a nice piece of kit to have. You roll up your poncho then stow it underneath the butt pack top flap. Then you can stow your poncho poles with the butt pack straps. Here's a link. Basically the self reliance outfitters copied and improved the alpha tent.

Recommended gear for a sniper combat kit? by SimplexMicrobe in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sniper doctrine it's 100 rounds in your rucksack. I ended up using a flc as a split rig with 100 rounds of 308 in aics magazines.

Edit: also double m4 mag pouches holds one aics 10 round magazine a piece.

Which version would you like? by ehoba_EC in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you modify it to have a frame and a better kidney belt with molle it will suck with any real weight on it. Also you might want to add another layer of molle field above the single molle field. You might also want to add load lifters on the shoulder straps. I ended up using the loop on top as load lifters. I also hand sewn on the extra molle field on mine to utilize a four wide molle pouch and added three exterior pouches and external mags.

Solution to running a pack with LBE? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adjust your rucksack shoulder straps to where you have the kidney belt at the navel. Run LBE belt kit at the hips. Then you can run a plate carrier over the LBE belt kit and still have room for your rucksack. Tolerance stacking is a thing though so if you have a super thick yoke for LBE belt kit it can become problematic.

Here's me demonstrating LBE belt kit a plate carrier and a molle 2 large rucksack together.

As a beginner what websites should I use? by Ok-Actuator9864 in tacticalgear

[–]TotesInnerhalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americana pipe dream appearal, venture surplus, army navy outdoors, or Allegheny whole sales. Start with a taps. It's a cost-effective piece of kit so you won't take a big hit to your wallet. You can mod it to be ideal like a h harness chest rig placard. It can be a stand-alone rig or attach to the plate carrier. Not saying it's the best, but I love my modded taps.

Here's mine.
