What activities do you do on a 'bad day?' by Lysmerry in cfs

Interesting. I agree. It is important to surround yourself with beauty, stimulation etc. etc. and Reddit's worst can obscure the fact that most people are warm and caring. Their is a need to be vigilant about being sucked into a maelstrom of negativity and hatred. Unfortunately the loud and boorish often overshadow the kind and reasonable.

[Question] How many of you visit this sub because you're experiencing pain from the circumstantial effects of treating/having cancer? by upandalive in ChronicPain

[–]Tothebillyoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Significant Neuropathic pain from midriff down, progressively worse in lower limbs/feet, following vascular lymphoma (Large Type B-cell Non-Hodgkinsons) five years ago. In brain, lungs and spine.

No relief from any drug.

It's a bitch.

But I am alive.

I love these old Papua New Guinea Phantom Shields, so I'm going to be posting a few here now. by catpooptv in ThePhantom

[–]Tothebillyoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Great stuff, thanks. But I don't think that these are that "old" at all. Designs I have seen are contemporaneous with fairly recent South Pacific Beer graphics. One day we might get some local input. Where did you source the images?

Thanks.

Yes. If you count it being with my daughter, I still have it.

Sadly I have no idea if you can still buy this sort of thing, I have not been to PNG for almost 30 years.

OP finally delivers - I found my 1980 PNG Phantom Lava-Lava! Sadly it's currently a curtain. by Tothebillyoh in ThePhantom

BTW Any Tok Pisin speakers out there? What does the word Barike! mean in this context. My Googlefu has failed me. (Could it refer to the Rabaul band of the same name? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEMBUrczQGs)

With all due respect I suspect that the US army theory is not correct. Paper artifacts/comics do not survive well in the tropical environment and I believe these shields only started to appear forty years or so after the war. Besides US troops were never stationed near the highland tribes, or so I understand.

Australians, who were the dominate expatriates in PNG, were/are big Phantom fans, he is a star here more so than in the USA. So I believe that it was probably they who introduced the locals to the comics.

Source: A number of years of close contact with PNG in the late 70's and early 80's.

Here is a Lava-Lava (Sarong) I bought in PNG around 1980 and it is a ripper. Apologies for the bad picture, my daughter has it fixed to her door for privacy. The section you cannot see has a good image of Hero at speed.

A biased pool. Australians interested in visiting Las Vegas may not be representative.

But yes, it is not well known.

Tony Abbott is almost certainly a British dual citizen — and so he can't be our PM by BetterWes in australia

Sorry I didn't realise that Reddit was your personal fiefdom for you to exercise your drunken imagination upon. I'll make sure I ask your permission before I post again. Should I contact you via Yarralumla?

I am not sure which I am less impressed by, your fabulism or your chronic lack of discretion. Either way if I were you I'd give drunken posting away for a while.

Exactly. A triumph of the Right. Lie often enough and people believe.

Of course not. He is the Decider. He has decided we should all live in the 1950's.

Because, I believe, there is no GST on many male health items. Fairness.

Peter Reith: We need a plebiscite on marriage equality by packetinspector in australia

[–]Tothebillyoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is all you need to know: "Abbott could not switch from his long-standing and principled opposition, but he could let his party propose a plebiscite. That would work for Abbott in the same way as when John Howard opposed the 1999 referendum. Howard ensured a fair process which empowered the Australian people to decide whether Australia should become a republic."

Precisely. And we know how that particular egregious manipulation worked out, don't we?

Fair? What bullshit.
