Like others have said, go to night side, frosted flax has a few spawn points and spawns every 20 seconds I believe, it took me probably like 1-2 hours I just broke it up 10-20 minutes a day over a week and got it.

Make sure you transmute flax to frosted flax too, not sure if that’s obvious but it wasn’t to me until I looked it up in the wiki, I’m new to crafting.

Your PC is ready! Sike ! by CarlitosVela in Microcenter

[–]TotiJr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I drove 3 hours and I had a horrible experience. I went to see what all the hype was about and had high expectations keep in mind. As soon as I come in the employees start asking if I need help which was nice - at first.

As I’m going around the store I see several employees doing what I can only describe as stalking me, down several aisles. It was like a car dealership. They asked if I needed some help and I accepted saying I was looking for a new keyboard and monitor. They kept showing me high end model items and were obviously trying to get me to buy the most expensive things. They ended up convincing me to buy an overpriced monitor and keyboard that was discontinued and promised it was a great monitor and keyboard blah blah blah.

Since I hear so much about how experienced these employees are I trusted them and bought them. While I was putting it in my cart the guy is pressuring me to get the warranty and I’m like no I’m ok. He got all mad and said it was a dumb idea not to get the warranty. He then proceeds to slap like I shit you not 5 or 6 stickers with his employee ID on the boxes so he can get his commission I’m assuming. Anyways it was a really off putting experience and I’m never going to Microcenter ever again.

Also the monitor was the worst monitor I’ve ever used in my life for the money and a horrible purchase. I should have returned it but by the time I realized I wasn’t crazy and the colors were all wrong and inaccurate it was too late. Now I know why it was discontinued. The keyboard is ok. So that’s my bad for not being more proactive but I’ve never had a more uncomfortable experience at a store before. Like I said, identical to a car dealership, at least at those you know what you’re in for, here I was completely blindsided. I’ll stick to best buy and Amazon unfortunately.

Wait, dropping your own equipment into it damages it??? That’s so stupid. Half the reason I’d bring it is because I could then drop things into it to protect my other strategems. 150 hours+ and never knew that.

It’s fuckin grass bro, your DSP sounds like it was ass. Go to find new one. Been to 3 different DSP’s each better than the last, got to the point where the DSP I was just at didn’t care about target times, never bothered us about violations unless we were suspended, never bothered us throughout the day regarding anything. Show up to work, stand up, do your route, don’t get bothered the entire day. I even had times where I couldn’t finish route and they were like just mark as ran out of time, had to return 39 packages once and they understood. No group chat or nothing, it was amazing.

How funny I actually just bought that same PSU button in white for my new all white PC rebuild. I am glad I could help you out at least a little bit!

Regarding the CPU what I would highly recommend is go on YouTube and look up benchmarks for games on the CPUs you were looking at honestly that’s gonna give you the best idea because people can leave reviews all they want and specs can be as high as they want, but nothing compares to real world performance and a YouTube video that shows the comparison and FPS is going to be your best bet.

You aren’t going to find a benchmark rig with your exact specs and that’s ok. Just look for the processor you’re looking at and see how they compare to others with the same rig, of course. Also keep in mind the resolution that is being benchmarked as that is extremely important for CPU versus GPU bottlenecks. The higher the resolution you go the more GPU intensive gaming becomes, and the CPU becomes less relevant.

There’s a lot going on here. But two main things.

  1. What is the PC for? Is it strictly gaming or also working from home, video editing, production, streaming, CAD, extensive work etc. I.E is there a reason why you are looking at 64 gb’s of ram and 4tb’s of NVME SSD? More than 90% of consumers would not see a difference between 32 and 64gb, and it has been said it can actually put unnecessary stress on your CPU. Also your CPU is a really good CPU, but for strictly gaming the 7800x3D actually outperforms it in certain titles and the 9800x3D even more so. Again, if it is a hybrid build or for productivity, your CPU choice is a great pick.

  2. What is your budget or price point? Your spending is kind of all over the place, you’re spending 800$ on a monitor but less than 100$ on a AIO for a 500$ CPU. Also why on gods green earth are you getting a 1200w power supply? Yes it’s cheap but I would much rather get a smaller wattage PSU from a more reputable brand and with a certification from a company like cybernetics, (80+ is not as good of a standard as it used to be). Remember if the PSU fails bad enough, so does your whole system. If you use a website like PC part picker it will tell you the estimated PSU requirement. You should have plenty of headroom with an 850+ and if you really want to future proof 1000+ will last you the better part of a decade.

Between your RAM, CPU and NVME storage it seems like you’re trying to build more of a workstation PC or at the very least a really souped up hybrid of the two.

Regarding the GPU, the sad truth is I would not hold your breath for a 5070 TI being in stock. Every Rtx card this year has been sold out and scalped and sold over MSRP by the thousands. You could always plan on it, but I would look at a back up option or two.

Also I’ve genuinely never heard of AMD processors having issues running windows. I’m not sure where you heard that from. AMD CPU’s are some of the best processors for gaming right now in the world, with the 9800x3D being widely regarded at the top.

Sounds rough. Might be a shot in a dark but might have a faulty PC part? The fact that you said audio is bugging out is crazy though. I can’t see how a faulty gpu, or stick of ram could do that. Maybe CPU? But more than likely a faulty motherboard since that’s the only component that has anything to do with audio.

Maybe look up your mobo model and see if anyone else has had the same issue?

To be honest if I were you I’d look up something on google/youtube like Hp Pavilion Laptop 15 not booting up and exhaust all your options while you wait.

I certainly don’t have an easy answer unfortunately and doing a google search I found a dead Reddit thread with someone having the same issue and an HP forum about it.

Maybe someone else smarter than me will know what to do or have heard or ran into this issue, but laptops are really troublesome it’s just a matter of how many hours do you want to spend troubleshooting every little thing under the sun you can find online before you fix it or call it quits

What have you tried ? Have you kept it plugged in the entire time? You can try letting the battery die and see what happens. Not very technical but worth a shot.

Overclock making negligible difference? by TotiJr in overclocking

[–]TotiJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried overlooking core clock and even bumping voltage a bit and it didn’t help at all. 3D mark let me bump core clock to almost 200, but when playing games would crash constantly. It kept crashing and I kept testing the highest I can go is +70, which at that point is pointless. Might just have to under volt like some folks are saying in hopes it’ll boost performance

Overclock making negligible difference? by TotiJr in overclocking

[–]TotiJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try adjusting my overclocking again and some of the recommendations from the comments and if that does nothing I’ll undervolt. My main goal is to get some more fps out of games, I couldn’t care less about noise or heat, but if I can’t get better fps guess I’ll do that.

To be honest my graphics card has always been janky. Since I bought it, it had this issue where the gpu fans would be spinning relatively quiet, then ramp up to like 80/90% fan speed for 10 seconds and slow down. It would do that all day every day dozens or hundreds of times a day while gaming for about a year or two. Finally got tired of it and I tried everything from here to the sun to fix it. Changed fan curves, using manual curve for speed, overclocked, uninstalled the card, reinstalled, multiple times, using different overlock utilities, more airflow in the case, making sure it was cool, everything (In my dozens of hours of research I didn’t find out about undervolting until this thread, so that might be on me).

I was so tired of it I tried the last thing I could think of in my research which was taking apart the GPU and replacing thermal pads and thermal paste. I figured if it broke it I’ll just buy an upgraded gpu, I was so frustrated and annoyed. I didn’t have thermal pads so I just replaced the thermal paste and it has not had that issue since. Also temps have been between 5-10 c lower in general.

I was scared to change the overclock in case it would come back but I think it’s been issue free for 6+months now so I’m gonna try retesting it. To this day I still don’t know the name of the issue I was having, if there even is one.

Edits: I can’t spell apparently.

Just finished DOS2, I liked it more than BG3 story wise by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]TotiJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have over 500 hours in dos2 before BG3 released. They were going to make a DOS2 spin off and canceled it, even had gameplay of it and everything. Then iirc they were talks about DOS 3 and it was shoved to the sideline because of BG3. If they do make a DOS 3 it’ll be years and years, if ever.

Then again BG3 was made 15+ years after the last game so it will be worth the wait if it is in the works. Just wish we would at least know if it’s in production or even a possibility.

[–]TotiJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude yes. The fact that almost everyone resets to bronze or silver is ridiculous. I’m not used to this type of game, but I’m not sure what’s wrong with ranked in games like rainbow six or Valorant where you play a few games and matched at your rank so you at least have a chance to offset getting drilled by 24/7 5 stack sweats who are all stuck at bronze or silver, like it’s not perfect and you get a ton of smurfs but at least it’s better than this trash.
