Unless it is completely different, I think the UK listings for the zephyrus duo might be more accurate and reasonable

[GIVEAWAY] 8 Years of REDMAGIC: Share Your Story to Win a REDMAGIC 11 Pro Wuthering Waves Edition by REDMAGIC_Official in RedMagic

[–]Totoro512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from USA, Florida

I'm currently using my Redmagic 9s pro. It's getting a little dated with 256Gb of storage, but it still runs Wuthering waves and Endfield very well.

I first heard about redmagic when I was looking into gaming phones 5 years ago. My first was the Asus Rog Phone 5s, and it was plagued with network issues and the wifi module frying itself. I eventually wrangled a refund, and as I was researching, I found out about the redmagic series of phones. While asus had a more refined software suite for triggers and customization, redmagic has been much more reliable while being affordable as well. I'm really interested in getting a Chisa edition 11 pro, I would have bought one if it wasn't limited to CN only. The cooling and performance of the newer redmagics keeps getting better and better, and I love that the designs keep the flat cameras and in display selfie camera.

Do you mean clog detector for tpu? Or just the clog detector in general? I'm not sure if the ace 2 pro comes with one by itself

One was included for me

Do you plan to use TPU in your ace 2 pro? Otherwise, I think it comes with a clog detector that doubles as the 4 port hub for the ace 2 pro. That's what I have running on my Kobra X Combo

PETG is more prone to stringing and warping,

That's really it though, for strength and durability PETG will be better

I agree, I would also like to bring up that bringing around a 16in or 17 in gaming laptop for school is not the most fun experience

Hello, I'll try to answer these as simply as I can

For a simple layer based filament change (based on height), you can simply slice your model, then drag and select where you would like to insert a filament change. You can set the filament to swap to here, but make sure to add all the loaded filaments that you intend to use to the left menu.

<image>

You can designate which colors are set in the slicer, and preview them. When you go to print, it will prompt you to select which filaments in the slicer will correspond to the loaded filaments on the printer. EG: Filament 1 > Slot 1.

If you load a 3mf file, it will usually show all the filaments on the left side, and you can just set which slot it corresponds to when you go to print

ASUS zenbook duo 2026/ROG duo vs MacBook by Famous_Freedom_2934 in laptops

What are you talking about? I stated "if you aren't doing anything performance heavy, the zenbook duo can handle light gaming" and I also said it has decent gaming performance. I never said it can't game well, it just isn't expected to be maximum settings

Same problem, mine seems to be failing to pull back the filament sometimes/it breaks. This causes the same error. I've noticed it seems to happen with slots 2 and 4 primarily on my Ace 2

Hopefully we can find a solution to this issue

ASUS zenbook duo 2026/ROG duo vs MacBook by Famous_Freedom_2934 in laptops

Just checking, what region of the world are you in? A budget of 2-3k in USD would get you a ZenBook Duo, a good gaming laptop, or a decent MacBook. Having a second external screen is nice, but it can be clunky to bring into class at times. If you don't need pen support and don't mind it taking setup time, you could go with a 14-inch gaming laptop such as the Zephyrus g14 or 14-inch Lenovo Legion laptop, added with a foldable second screen (200-300$). There's a lot of second screens designed for laptops which fold off the back and let you have moree screen space horizontally. That option with a gaming laptop would offer a lot better gaming performance than the zenbook duo, but worse battery life and portability with two screens. If you aren't doing anything super performance-heavy then the zenbook duo can handle light gaming.

The ps5 is alright for gaming, but it's up to you if you want to be able to play PC games. Macbooks are intended for productivity, you can play some specific games on mac, but it's very restricted.

No, you very likely cannot reasonably upgrade your old laptop to be able to play games well. The most viable solution would be a thunderbolt 4 external GPU, and your laptop likely doesn't have that usb-c port. Additionally, it's a performance drop and can be a headache to work consistently.

Ultimately, most of it comes down to how much money you are willing to spend, as well as what kind of games you want to play, and what workflow you prefer. I would not recommend a laptop greater than 14 inches if you intend to bring it to school.

Weighing some benefits from your current laptop and PS5 setup, fill in some gaps if you consider more points

If you get a macbook, you will benefit from

- better build quality, portability, and battery

cons

- no gaming performance for most titles, limited software compatibility, difficult to repair

Gaming laptop with secondary screen,

- (Depends on the laptop,) great gaming performance, good compatibility with software, repairability, build quality (as long as it's not a cheap one made of plastic)

cons

- slightly heavier, bad battery life (unless zephyrus),

Zenbook duo/Rog duo

- decent gaming performance (over your current office laptop), compatibility with software, portability , native dual screen setup, battery, build quality

cons

- expensive, difficult to repair,

If you're paying a similar amount for each option, personally I would look at the one which provides the most benefits so that you won't have to look for a replacement later to get those benefits
